Chuck Todd the Expert on MSNBC now
Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 09:10 AM by Thrill
This guy is a real asshole. There is no nicer way to put it. Obama went to Europe because he's more popular there than at home? This is what that jerk just said. I want to punch him in his face as hard as I can.

1. heh
The funniest part was that he said Obama's popularity rating was "pretty decent" in Europe, and that he's probably more popular there than at home, but his popularity in Europe might not last either. And Alex Witt, who is usually pretty annoying, said "Well, I can just say, people have been twittering me all week...and they are hugely supportive of their president this week, I keep hearing the word PRIDE come up over and over", and Chuck kind of grumbled a goodbye.

5. I mean, I have no problem with
people trying to look at the "downside" of things, but sometimes they stretch things. And Chuck Todd keeps repeating the SAME thing over and over, that it was "like a campaign", as if there is something wrong with having a town hall in France.

of words. They are getting paid too much of the almighty dollar, in my mind, and have too much to lose, they think, even albeit unconsciously, if they don't try to stoke the waters.

Don't doubt your thought process(es) for a milli-second.

2. Chuck is mostly okay in my book. He has to spout some DC nonsense from time to time
so that they know he is trustable and he stays connected

Eh, they are now trying the "he isn't as popular as everyone says he is" meme--that won't work either

4. I preferred Chuckie when he used to show up all nervous and
uncertain of himself on Washington Journal. He was fairly honest and factual then. Now he spends all of his time trying to suck up to Uncle Joe and Mike, Cousin Willie, and Grandpa Pat to be considered anything but a blowhard.

....and if they are at all representative, he's a fucking douchebag.

at the last two press conferences.

11. My email to Chuckie & his response.
Why do you hate the President?

Your bias is not hidden. You shame MSNBC. When I see your mug I turn
the channel. Nothing you say has any merit.

That is nuts... I don't hate him at all

he's just one tiny little fish in a huge press corps pond.

15. He's a corporate butt-kisser
They all start out as semi-nice guys, then they do what they think they have to do and become terminal asswipes. They lose themselves because they can't stand the thought of losing the job.

16. I don't understand why you would get angry at someone because they say something you disagree with.
Isn't it the American way to disagree? He is entitled to his opinion and you are entitled to yours.

17. Difference is the size of the microphone.
So it is easy to get angry at opinionated distortion coming from a mouthpiece on the television who is spreading his "opinion" to thousands as though it is a fact.

Look, my opinion was that Iraq didn't have any WMDs. You see how far that took me, compared to the tools on the television who were parroting the Bush administration.

So you see why your comparitive "entitled" doesn't make sense.....I hope.

Oh yeah, Obama's real unpopular here. Oh my - 63%! Gotta get out right away, based on those Bush-like ratings, right? :eyes:

Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 02:56 PM by rvablue
in is front of a camera.

His job, as NEWS REPORTER, is to report fact and share observations.

Saying that the President is more popular in Europe than in the US is hyperbole if in fact, which seems to be the case, he was not citing some poll that was done of all Europeans.

If he was, and the numbers backed up his claim, then he has every right and professional responsibility to say what he said.

But he wasn't citing a poll and therefore his statement was hyperbole, not fact, and if he takes his job seriously and the set of ethics that go along with it, then he needs to keep his editorializing to himself.

His job, as NEWS REPORTER, is to report fact and share observations.

You are quite naive. His job is to get ratings for NBC News and MSNBC and serve the interests of his corporate masters. Your high minded view of the responsibilities of news reporters went out the window a long time ago.

23. Maybe you'd be less angry if you turned the channel or turned the TV off.
I'm not sure who this Chuck Todd guy is, but from the brief amount I've read about him I think it's safe to say that it doesn't matter what the fuck he thinks, so I don't see what the point is of watching him.

25. They keep telling us Obama isn't popular, then the next poll goes up again.
As hard as MSM tries, they can't shake the affection the public has for this man. We may disagree with some of his policies, but we know he cares and that makes all the difference.
