Faux's Julie Bandarez asks if Obama is putting our troops in harm's way
Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 11:14 AM by jenmito
Faux's Julie Bandarez said, about Obama's town hall in France, "President Obama's speech went farther than any other United States president in history in criticizing his own country while standing on foreign soil, of all places, declaring America as, I think, one of the worst was 'arrogant' but, I mean, 'dismissive, derisive,' towards its allies. In the process, in the middle of us in the middle of a war in Iraq and sending more troops to Afghanistan, the question here is, does comments like these, made by our Commander in Chief, put our military men and women in harm's way?"

She asked that to NY Post reporter Charles Hurt, who, of course, said it's "pretty amazing" that he criticized America beyond our shores and he called it "pretty startling" and Julie chimed in that it's "troubling," saying it's "giving our enemies an excuse for their animosity and our allies an excuse not to back us up." And she LIED-Obama said EUROPE has been "dismissive and derisive" of AMERICA, not recognizing the GOOD America does. The RW is disgusting.

1. Why? Did Pres. Obama order the illegal invasion of a nation that hadn't
threatened us in any way whatsoever and then yell "Bring it on!" to the invaded people?

I haven't had the news on today so musta missed all that.

3. So it's still just George W. bUsh that's caused the deaths of over 5000 US troops.
And of course Fox "News" pundits wouldn't be criticizing that, duh me!

4. (I also posted this in another thread)
I turned on Fox today, and they are so blatant. I wanted to see how they covered Prague, and they went through so many topics without mentioning it, I had to turn it off. These were the topics I saw..."Chris Dodd will face trouble in re-election bid" (They spoke to a CT Republican, and the anchor said "We're sorry we couldn't find a Democrat to come on"...anchor and Pub ended with "Nice to see ya, Buddy!" and "You look great!"; The Fox investigation into whether Textbooks have a Liberal Bias (Of course, Fox says that they are exposing this very important story!"; The anchor talked to someone from Notre Dame who doesn't want Obama to speak there; segment on whether Pope John Paul will qualify for Sainthood, and a segment bashing the NYT with a "media critic". They were going to get to North Korea after the commercial, but seriously, all those stupid topics and Prague wasn't even mentioned. I hardly ever flip to Fox, I am always surprised by how bad it really is. I mean, it's really funny. Anyone who says MSNBC is the liberal Fox really doesn't know what they are talking about, in terms of stories covered in the daytime at least.

6. I wish Media Matters would put up the video of Obama's actual words next to video of
these Faux liars claiming Obama said those things about AMERICA. The only reason I saw it was because I happened to catch them saying yesterday that they were going to cover Obama's speech LIVE at 4amET so I DVRed it and caught this conversation before the speech. They really have NO shame nor regard for the facts.

5. What else do you expect from a Faux News reporter and I just bet
the guy from the NY Post was eating it up.

7. I don't expect anything more than I saw. And of course the guy was
eating it up. They were both discussing how outrageous and unprecedented it is for Obama to do criticize America so harshly. :eyes:

13. This is Entertainment
In a couple of years she will probably be on CNN or MSNBC, heck, she will probably end up on E or access hollywood. To deny her physical beauty would be like denying that the sky is blue.

I would set aside my political beliefs for a fling with her (what straight guy wouldn't?).

10. Oops-Obama WAS talking about America when he used the words "dismissive and derisive" BUT
in the next sentence he said, "But in Europe, there is also an anti-Americanism that can be casual but can also be insidious." My bad.

12. They did this shit for eight years with their guy in power.
Demonizing, sliming, and threatening anyone who dared question Bush's war.

No one's buying it anymore--the American people largely have realized that we fucked up and we fucked up big time.

15. I have to question why....
ANYONE on the DU watches that channel on a regular basis? I only watch it when I am forced to in some motel room without CNN, or MSNBC, but I usually just watch the local news then, and skip Fox altogether.

Why, also, would anyone say that someone who is regularly on Fox News is "OK"?

19. And of course they were so worried when Bush put US troops in "harm's way"

It's amazing how their concerns do a full 180 when the Dems are in power... the RW media are all of a sudden deficit-hawks too.
