A must read story: How Biden does things
It'll only take you a few minutes to read it and it's well worth it.

Read the story here:
http://www.newsargus.com/news/archives/2009/04/05/police_chief_gets_same_day_call_from_biden/

-----------------------------

I grew up in this small town and I gotta admit, this story warms my heart. Not only because my brother volunteers at the fire station that Biden was calling from, but because he's also a policeman on a department a few miles away. Considering the town has only one stoplight and very few people, him just coming to the town was amazing. Him coming and actually getting things done takes it to a whole new level though.

1. It's things like this that make me so angry at the media when they
constantly sla, Joe for his "gaffes" or so they call them. He really IS a regular guy who cares about regular people. Every time they growl about how they can't let him loose without a script I scream!

4. In this paper's defense
They are a very conservative paper, so the fact that they would even do a story like this leaves me a little shocked.

3. They left out the part where he allowed credit card companies to charge usurious interest rates...
WTF?

My heart warms every time I think of Joe.

13. and our county isn't even the worst off
Some of the counties near us (the furniture/textile producing counties) have unemployment rates above 15%.

Wayne is mainly a tobacco farming county. I know it sounds bad, but even with the new taxes, people still have to have their cigarettes in this economy.

17. Understand
I was with the wife shopping for some furniture at a nearby local store (in St. Louis, here) and the owner was telling us of the plants being closed in NC, which affected the lines he could offer along with the many people there of course.

Just damn sad.

8. Great article. This VP is light years away from the last one.
I can't imagine Cheney caring about anyone but Biden goes out of his way for others.

24. I know understand Joe's utter contempt for Rudy Giuliani. It was Joe who penned
the legislation that put 100,000 additional cops back on the street. To this day, Giuliani claims credit for cleaning up NYC, but if it weren't for Joe, he wouldn't have anything to brag about.

Joe Biden has never received nor taken credit for this legislation. :(
