Where the fuck is my Barack Obama prize
I mean I canvassed for him from February to November. Organized 2 teams for him. Gave him close to a thousand dollars I didn't have. Have held house parties for OFA. I want my fucking pony.

Truth is my Barack Obama prize is the same prize that Barack Obama got when he got his President Barack Obama prize. More work, more stress, and more criticism.

Well at least I can turn on my TV now and hear the words Lady and Gentleman the President of the United States and not reach for my shoe to fling at the TV :-)

Other than the bailout and gay rights issues I'm 100% happy. Its a joke amongst some people locally in the campaign in reaction to some others who were in the campaign.

Yes I sometime disagree with him, yet most days on most issues I can't imagine a better person suited for the job.

I have yet to hear a truly logical reason to be upset about the economic recover plan that is more important than giving working Americans their jobs back.

Ive gone toe to toe with people on this and in the end the result is that people against just would rather poor people stay broke than swallow their anger.

12. What I think doesn't matter
Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 10:34 PM by AllentownJake
He's the President. I'm not. I don't like the bailout plan. I hope it succeeds. I'd rather be wrong than to see it fail. I just have my doubts about keeping the idiots who caused this mess in power by giving them more money. I'd like to see them be held as accountable as the people who were given bad mortgages but that is my sense of justice getting in the way.

16. I see it as a short term vs. long term pay off
These guys will crash the car again and everytime they crash the car its used as a justification to send more jobs overseas to countries with no worker rights standards. Just my opinion.

18. I know more about finance and economics than the average joe
I'm perfectly aware of what the DOW has been doing. I also know that middle class wages have been stagnant despite the DOW rising for the past 8 years. Under employment has been an ever increasing problem.

I don't base the health of our economy or the welfare of the citizens of the stock market because outside of 401(k)s most Americans don't hold stocks.

They view American business as a bad investment right now.

They also view the American worker as a bad investment.

20. Ditto - The More He Does - The Higher The Bar Gets
Stimulus plan, mortgage plan, child healthcare, bank bailout, auto industry in peril, G-20 meeting, NATO summit, budget, etc. This is freakin stressful!

Obama must be crazy, because I am not President, and I'm stressed by simply reading the NY Times. I've become a policy junky whereas under Bush, I did not really focus on the details, because I already hated the big picture. For example, social security privitization. I hated the basic concept, so what's the need to focus on the implementation details under Bush. However, I generally agree with Obama's positions, so I end up sweating the small stuff.
