Republicans are sore losers.
Never play a board game with a Republican. I guarantee if you start winning, you'll end up picking the peices off the floor.

2. that may be - but I sure would like to see a similar spark among the D's
I will never forgive Gore for rolling over so easily and not fighting to the end. Look what that brought us.

3. There's a difference between vigorously opposing government actions & pissing in the punch
Gore did not "roll over easy". He exhausted all his legal remedies, but played by the rules. Lay the blame where it belongs: Republican vote suppression and the Supreme Court playing partisan politics. If we give up playing by the rules, we're guilty when the game --civil Constitutional government-- falls apart.

10. well - you can be concerned about "blame" - but the R's are much more
determined to win. 2000 and 2004 are testaments to that.

9. What do you think he should have done?
What's the next step after the Supreme Court?

11. he was outmatched by the bush machine
he should have worked harder for a state-wide recount. That was his only chance and the only one that would have wide acceptance among the voters throughout the US.

16. That was a tactical decision (and not a good one), but he did try till he couldn't
The fact that he pushed for only limited recounts instead of statewide recount doesn't mean he didn't vigorously contest the results until the SCOTUS shut the process down. Your dismissal of his efforts is painted with too broad a brush

15. Same here
The same people who were talking all kinds of smack before the election are stone quiet now. Which is fine with me.
