British deserve better
Protocol requires flying the flag of a visiting dignitary’s country, along with the exchange of meaningful gifts. The present occupant of the Oval Office refused to fly the British flag — a direct insult to the British people.
Britain’s Prime Minister Brown presented a gift of carved pens from a famous British ship. The queen has the only other set made. In return, he was given a basket of tapes unplayable in England. The First Lady was given, by the Prime Minister’s wife, British designer clothes for the children. In return, she received a model helicopter, taken from storage.
After 9-11, President Bush was given a bust of Winston Churchill to show unity between our countries. As a further insult, it was removed from the Oval Office and ordered to be given back to the British. It was suggested it be placed in a museum here, but the president refused the request. The First Lady once wrote a paper on Britain’s involvement, more than 300 years ago, in the slave trade. Could these snubs reflect their dislike of the British and their ilk?
The liberal press and TV news will not report this. As Americans, we should be embarrassed by our present government’s treatment of our closest ally.
The first speech after the inauguration wasn’t to the American people on American TV, but on an Islamic TV station. For what purpose?
With liberals in absolute control of every segment of our government, you’re going to get:
oSocialized medicine that will determine the extent of medical treatment given, depending on your age. Translation: The elderly are expendable.
oA temporarily nationalized banking system. Nothing the government does is temporary!
oMore restrictive gun laws, with the ultimate goal to abolish your right to bear arms.
oRemoval of conservative radio talk shows from the airwaves, so the only information the public receives is what the government and liberal media want you to hear. Can you say socialism/communism? These were the same tactics used by Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin to attain and retain power over their populaces.
This government’s objective is to make citizens so dependent on government handouts, taking away the American initiative to thrive on their own. To quote a line from an old Bette Davis movie, “Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.”
