You know, I wanted to cut Keith Olbermann some slack this week.
It would have been fine with me, after the shocking news we heard last night, if he took the rest of the week off. Two weeks. A month.

Yet I listened to his first story tonight, and that was all it took for me to want to tie him into his anchor chair and say, "OK. Special Comment. NOW."

You can tell he's not any happier about this wiretapping garbage than the rest of us.

He always said we could count on him to hold Obama's feet to the fire if it was warranted.

The time for him to prove that has come. And the timing couldn't be much worse.

But I think it's the kind of thing that would make his mother smile.

2. I'll cut him some slack.
Having lost lost a parent not that long ago, I was raw and numb for way longer than a few days or even a few weeks, and that was without having to force my thoughts and face a national audience of a few million fans and critics every day. He will do it yet. He is KO and he will do it civilly but uncomprimisingly. That I feel sure of.

3. KO did what he had to do. I'm fine with it. And to have
Professor Turley back him up was good, too.

I knew my mom was dying for 2+ years and I still fell apart when she died. I can't even imagine the strength it took for him to be able to eulogize his mom last night. And he's working. Maybe that's helping.

... the whole show sounds as if the air has been let out of his balloon. I feel for him.

5. Many May Call Him Out, But I Can Do Nothing But Respect Him For
all that he has and IS trying to do. I honestly think he LOVES this country MUCH more than so MANY more!!

Call me crazy or any other name you will, I applaud his "Audacity Of Truth!"
