6. And of course, the gun industry is totally upset by the gun panic behind some killings.
A major increase in gun sales has nothing to do with what the gun industry wants, nor its front group, the NRA.

8. Well, at least someone besides MSNBC is calling faux on their rumor mongering, riot inciting,
ethically void....blather. I am not calling what they do "rhetoric".

4. He has been doing very well lately... He's opened his format
to the viewers to a degree I haven't seen on any other shows, and seems to be taking on the ridiculous arguements of the RW. . .along with their idiot messengers.

I think he has just about redeemed himself for that dumb taser stunt that Keith played over and over last year.. . .

7. 90 million gun owners
Ok, how many of the 90 million are:
hunters
sport shooters
law enforcement
people with a gun strictly for home or personal security
collectors
gunsmiths

How many of these people have ben trained to respect their weapon's deadly power and to use their weapon safely?

Now how many people own assault weapons? How many people use their assault weapons for their sport/trade/craft? How many people with deadly assault weapons are affiliated with a militia or some criminal element?

I don't think for an instant that the gub'ment is going to start going door to door confiscating people's guns. I also don't think anyone outside of law enforcement, security, or military has any reason to own an assault weapon. No ethical hunter is going to use an AK-47 to bag their prey. I don't think that anyone needs to use an Uzi to defend their home. I do think anyone foolish enough to try and defend their home with an assault weapon is just asking for collateral damage.

I don;t think that banning deadly assault weapons to the general populace is a horrible idea. I'm not against strict regulation on guns, either. Why not require background checks, safety courses, trigger locks, or thumb/fingerprint recognition locks? If the gun is going to be used by a law abiding citizen for legal activities, they should have no problem going through the security process. I'm also for ballistic fingerprinting of weapons to identify specific weapons if they are used in a crime.

Criminals are going to find a way to get guns. Why not write, re-write, or amend laws to drastically increase the penalties for crimes committed with illegal guns.

I think there should be a way to find some common ground. Guns, when used properly, can be a valuable tool. I don't think that removing all guns is a solution to anything, and I understand why people would be totally opposed. I also don't think that there is any reason that people outside of law enforcement or military should have access to assault weapons. If people think assault weapons are acceptable, where do they draw the lines? Grenades? Bazookas? Surface to air missiles? Why not let private citizens have battleships or fighter jets for their own personal protection?

16. A semiautomatic AK-style rifle with a five-round magazine is perfectly OK for small game
Or varmints. It doesn't give any advantage over a more traditional looking hunting rifle.

Many states limit hunting rifles to five rounds.

14. Ya think?
I hate to think what things will be like when they really start to kill people. ;)

Malkin, Beck, Hannity, et al have really gone off the edge. But they have nothing else to offer and only one direction to go in. They have nothing but a message filled with fear and hate that only the crazies believe. The rest of the goppers probably think of them as useful idiots. At least for now. Maybe the GOP will go completely off the rails before they take note of the evil and damage they have all been a part of.

15. I really like Rick these days, he has cleaned up his act and has one of the best shows in all of
cable news. His interactions with the audience combined with a more liberal take on the news really makes me want to catch his show every day at 3:00. All the rest of CNN is crap however.
