Why does he hate baseball - Obama turns down NATS throw out first pitch
Next RW talking point when they get tired of talking about the bow?

President Obama has turned down an invitation to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the home opener of the Washington Nationals against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.

Tommy Vietor, a White House spokesman, said today that Obama, who returned from an eight-day overseas trip this week and is planning to leave for Mexico and Trinidad next week, would not be doing the honors.

Vice President Biden threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Orioles home opener against the New York Yankees on Monday of this week. Obama, a longtime Chicago White Sox fan and a close friend of the team's general manager, was unable to throw out the first pitch for the Sox home opener earlier this week as he was winding down his trip, which to took him to Europe, Turkey and Iraq.

1. With the rabid environment going on I have no doubt the President's
safety and security is playing a big, big role in this. Personally I'm glad he's not doing it. Wide open, unable to totally secure, nah, not good.

4. Obama Is A Baseball Fanatic - Loves The Sox, Hates The Cubs
It may not be politically correct, but he hates the Cubs, and loves the White Sox. The dude is a real rabid sports fan.

5. How do you know for a fact that he hates the Chicago Cubs?
That's my team!

I don't hate the White Sox just because I'm a Cubs fan.

6. Supposedly, you can't be both.
Complete hogwash, IMO. I like the White Sox--except when they're playing the Cubs. I'm a third generation Cubs fan, so I guess that makes it a birth defect. ;-)

24. Sox fans are suppose to hate the Twins
and vice versa. Though it doesn't get quite as extreme as the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry.

8. If he had thrown out the first pitch, the Republicans would have had
a negative commercial on the air within hours about Obama playing ball and ignoring the economy.

10. I can't deal with the few holidays and occasions in MY life, in the President's shoes...
I think I'd have to pass on one or two of these invitations.

Fuck Good Friday, I couldn't get my dad's hearing aids fixed because the place closed early.

Fuck Easter, just fuck it. They can't set a solid date for it consistent from year to year, fuck it.

And fuck Memorial Day, which comes way early this year, Monday May 25th. Fuck it twice.

Baseball pitch??? Fuck it.

14. because he's the president and doesn't make appearances at AAA games
there are plenty of MLB venues he can visit...

Someone may as well ask why Obama doesn't attend a Bowie Baysox game

19. It requires many different skills and is more of a team game than football, hockey, etc.,
It's much more interesting than the other sports and it's non-territorial.

...however, I'm happy if it's Joe Biden cuz that'll satisfy the crush I have on him.
