What if the information Obama voted to keep secret is evidence that could be used in a trial

to prosecute the Bush administration? (Besides the fact that it could be something sensitive for other reasons that have nothing to do with foul play on the Obama administration's part)

But like I said, what if it isn't a card to be played at this time. I think the case against the Bush administration should be iron clad before we start spending money and time in court. I would imagine there has to be a ton of research and a few court cases showing criminality in the Justice department before the prosecution will be ready.

It all seems plain to us but what matters is that it is plain under the law.

5. I really think he has every reason to be given the benefit of the doubt.

The sentiments around here make me think either those who suspect him of being a bad guy haven't lived long enough to know what an anomaly he is, or they aren't thoughtful enough to realize there are legitimate reasons why a President may want to keep certain information under wraps. To automatically assume the worst make no sense whatsoever. It could well mean something we would ALL like very much.

I would never blindly support anyone. It's just obvious to me there is no evidence to assume he is not the man we think him to be.

Rhetorically I say: Give it time. Give yourSELF time to imagine more than the worst.

He's worked for the little folks his entire adult career. Someone posted earlier..."this isn't a Walt Disney movie"...and it isn't. I think our experience with the past 8 yrs makes us wary...but I haven't seen any reason to be. The negative attitudes around here are only "what if's" as well.

I do not think Obama turned into a constitution shredding tyrant in under 3 months. So I'm keeping a positive frame of mind. You are right, the negative posts are completely conjecture and innuendo, we really do not know how all this will play out.

8. hey thanks for the rec wherever it came from. I've been thinking this for weeks and I come to DU

to learn things, as I have for some time, and hear so much negativity now... and I think "I just don't see it". And I'm one of those people who has NO faith whatsoever in most politicians. The ones I have faith in are marginalized or dead, y'know?
