I turned to Fox just to see- Why the long Faces?
It's Easter and the Pirates lost, :patriot:
but Fox anchors are acting like someone other than pirates died in this story?
What gives?

NEWS PRIOR TO THE RESCUE

Cal Thomas quote on Fox prior to today's rescue:
"The world’s tyrants are watching to see how President Obama reacts. The message they get will determine how they respond to America and whether we will be in greater peril."

Comment at this Fox site:
Cliff Darnell says:
Since Mr. Obama cannot be bothered with concern over Mr. Phillips life at the moment and has shown not one bit of concern or regard to the situation, he should be held alone and entirely responsible for the brave Captain’s life. If this goes bad, he should be held liable.

Cave News: Team Obama unsure how to handle pirate crisis
While the world is watching Mr. Obama is silent. Hillary, on the other hand, is making light of the crisis as shown in the short video posted here. In the second half of the video Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a good laugh about the piracy crisis.

When will Obama speak out and at least acknowledge the crisis and ask for prayers for the Captain rather than remain silent appearing to the world to be a weak appeaser.

We have a president with a great speaking voice who can read his teleprompter pronouncements flawlessly. Now, however, he is silently finishing his pizza while the entire world watches.

2. Sorry, Fox. President Obama isn't going to wave his dick around like Bush did.
Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 05:06 PM by liberalmuse
I love how he kept mum about everything instead of making some dumbass, saber-rattling remark about the 'evildoers' and how bad they were, and that we were going to get them, just before the mission failed and the hostage ended up dead after they blew the ever-loving hell out of some poor village full of babies.

12. I agree with your husband. I'm afraid that there are moles in our intelligence..
communities that may still be loyal to the last administration, and I think this is why the current administration is walking very softly when it comes to intelligence prosecutions. The last thing we need is for the intelligence community to have it in for our president.

37. And that would be a huge miscalculation on Cheney's part.
Despite the pundits' assertion that a terrorist attack on U.S. soil would hurt Obama and badly, I believe that nothing could be further from the truth. Obama will handle it the way Bush should have and his numbers will be forever sealed within reach of 80%. Do these fools really believe that Obama will run and hide with his tail between his legs?

Obama will step up and lead like no one has ever seen and he will make every American stand tall and proud instead of doing what Bush did--try to manipulate us into cowering like imbeciles while "Daddy Bush" pretended he was protecting us.

Cheney's a bigger idiot than I thought if he tries this stunt.

Perfect way for DisneyCorp to get more interest in their formulaic Pirate romps.

By the way, I just saw "Narnia 2; Prince Caspian" Is it just me, or was that the worst movie ever produced? It was so crappy I just sat there, mouth agape as my brain cells liquified.

23. "When will Obama speak out and at least acknowledge the crisis and ask for prayers for the Captain"
That was one of the things I despised most about The Blivet: his smarmy piety in lieu of actually helping whatever the situation at hand was.

Personally, I pray. But from the President of the US I expect intelligently informed action, whether from behind the scenes or in front of the camera depending on the circumstances. He can pray on his own time.

Obviously the denizens of FAUX were "praying" for a grimmer outcome.

24. Did FOX even show President Obama's reaction to the outcome or acknowledge that he called the
captain to personally speak with him?

I flipped to FOX quickly and all I saw were various REPUBLICAN reactions.

I switched back to CNN as MSNBC was doing some Dateline reruns or whatever.

25. The President "spoke out" the only way a Commander-in-Chief needs to
in such situations: he issued a standing order to the military to take out the pirates the second it appeared that the Captain was in imminent danger.

The Fox crew is used to a trash-talking, tin-horn president in cowboy boots and a big belt buckle selling wolf tickets but intimidating no one and accomplishing nothing. They don't know how to respond to a real leader - a man with confidence in his course and his military who leaves the trash-talking on the basketball court and whispers his commands only to those who need to hear them.

Damn! Our President is a bad brother!
