So, you know they will make a movie about this, right?
And if they feel compeled,
I'm recommending that George Clooney be given the role
of Captain Phillips!

Of course, Clooney in anything works for me.

On edit:
Or in nothing, for that matter.

2. lol. good casting. Someone else suggested William Peterson
another Matt Damon. Your suggestion is the best. Gotta say though, I hope they don't make a movie.

3. You know they will. Pirates, labeled an international crisis, a new President,
and Navy Seals? Man, they couldn't pass this up if they wanted to.

9. Naw....that part goes to Denzel!
Yep...you've heard it here!

He's got the gravitas about him needed for that role!

12. I thought of Denzel but isn't he too old? Ears don't stick out. Will Smith's too young.

20. I agree age is not a factor
I think the presidential role should go to that YouTube sensation Alphacat. He has the mannerisms down cold. He is young enough where this could be the break which set his career off in the right direction.

If a movie had to be made, I'd hope they'd do a life story on this guy's decision to be a freight captain. I can't imagine why anyone in this day and age would go into freighting.

What do you do with yourself for those long stretches of time between one point of landing and another?

10. Clooney looks just like Phillips! It's amazing!
This would make a great movie. The whole SEALs thing is so dramatic. It's wonderful...the wife and kids back home, the Prez making the direct order TWICE, the drama at sea...oh, boy, whatta great movie that is!

15. Oh please no
I get the feeling it will be some major crap piece about super commandos fighting evil pirates with lots of 'splosions.

19. I doubt it
unless it's on Lifetime or one of the Cable networks. The movies made about the World Trade Center and United Flight 93 didn't do a lot of business. And this incident is not nearly big enough to guarantee a big draw at the box office.

It would make a nice cable movie though, but big name stars are priced out of that market.

Somebody's probably filming it already for release next month, starring Stony Granite (star of Motherfuckers from Mars, Motherfuckers from Alabama & Motherfuckers from Mars versus Motherfuckers from Alabama).
