"a flicker of hope amid the imperialist darkness"... you'll never guess who said this....
Colonel Gaddafi (also a fan of President Lincoln, lol.)

Much like on teh cable news programs, Obama's daily successes seem to confound some in the Arab world.
Others are flatly impressed.

"He (Obama) speaks logically. Arrogance no longer exists in the American approach which was previously based on dictating to the rest of the world to meet its own conditions," Gaddafi said.

but this is the most suggestive part of the reuters article:

The readiness of America's adversaries to acknowledge that Obama has brought a more sensitive verbal approach to the region is striking. In contrast, some traditional U.S. allies such as Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak have kept tight-lipped.

Conservative Arab leaders may have misgivings about Obama's overtures to their own regional rivals, Iran and Syria, and may fear that he will in time renew U.S. pressure for human rights and democratic reform in their own autocratic systems.

Hmmmm interesting. You keep shaking the snow globe, Mr. President!

2. That's why does media/GOP Skeptics that stated that this President
hadn't accomplished anything of "substance" with his worldwind tour of Europe, and his other approaches, etc...don't seem to be politically analytical enough to understand that what Barack Obama did goes much deeper than they will ever give him credit. Certainly, he didn't get all that he wanted in terms of tangibles during his tour of Europe, but it is the intangibles that were most needed, and I think he performed way above expectations in that arena. He needed to begin to repair the U.S.'s image all over the world, and that is what he is doing, and it will begin to yield results little by little. The video he made at the Turkish town hall with the young people is just now getting out into the wider Muslim world.

Barack Obama has released, in effect, a timed capsule recipe for peace, which will only continue to be released slowly but surely, which is what was needed for effective world healing.
