I really hope we find out that Captain Phillips voted for Obama
After all, odds are good that he did. 68% of Vermonters voted for Obama. Wingnuts hate VT with a passion. It's delightful that they have to praise as a hero, a guy from the latte swilling, gay loving, arugula scarfing, hippie ridden state of Vermont. It would be even more delicious if it turns out Phillips was an Obama supporter.

1. If Phillips didn't in 08, he surely will in 2012! I can't imagine how
those sharpshooters were able to take aim so well on a boat bobbing around in the ocean. Truly amazing!

3. the rescue was amazing when you consider that the lifeboat was
being towed in the ship's wake.

7. I just read that. Remarkable! Also, 3 shooters, 3 targets. If one had
missed, the Captain would be dead. What needs to be noticed here is that Obama let the Navy guys do what they are trained to do. He didn't get in the way, he didn't bluster and he didn't flinch. It takes a lot of discipline and intelligence to do what Obama did.

2. Me, too. I was secretly hoping that he voted for Obama and would admit it.
But I know that is unrealistic. I've pretty much decided in my head that someone that honorable HAS to be a Democrat.

4. I almost hope he didn't
Why? Because then he could say in 2012 that he voted Republican in 2008,
but there's no way he is going to vote against Obama in 2012!

5.  I hope no stupid reporter asks him. Leave his
voting out of this. He is a hero no matter who he voted for.

8. I hope he did not. I hope wingnutters realize that Obama would
try to save even those who voted against him. Unlike Rethugs, Obama rises above the pettiness. I do bet the Captain will sure vote for him in 2012 though!
