Pic: Bo the Puppy Runs with Obama
Edited on Mon Apr-13-09 12:02 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
I know, another dog picture. I am shit. But I thought this picture was so cute. It reminded me of when I used to run with my dog (she passed away in 03).

Via HuffPo:

"The White House has released a new photo of Bo Obama, the Obamas' new puppy, running though the halls with President Obama.

Bo is a six-month-old Portuguese Water dog who arrived at the White House over the weekend."

18. Well, maybe just a occasional walk with him through the White House
until the kids get home from school?

i'm looking forward to getting a dog. We also need a "hypoallergenic" dog, as much as possible, for my benefit. Also, since it is going to be an indoor dog, I don't want it to get too big, and he/she needs to do well with children, especially my autistic son. I'd like a dog trained for autistic children, like a guide dog.

22. These dogs are smart. Bo probably didn't need any time to figure out
who was the alpha male in the bunch.

Our dog was purchased for our sons (then ages 9 and 14), my husband somewhat reluctantly going along with the idea of an "inside dog." Guess who the smart dog immediately latched onto?

Probably wishing right now that he'd been born 8 years later as a Water Dog.

6. Boy, the WH sure is a different place since January, huh? Little
kids again, a gym set in the yard, a garden of vegies planted, and a president who actually PLAYS with their dog!

9. this is going to grab a lot of hold-outs on the right
I'm talking about the little-old-conservative-lady contingent like my mom. She's conservative but she's an absolute sucker for dogs. Indications are that she'll go nuts over this puppy.

10. I just have a sneaky suspician
Dogs have a way of choosing their people, not the other way around. So far, I've not yet seen a picture of Sasha or Malia loving on or playing with Bo. Not one. (doesn't mean there aren't any. I just haven't seen one).

But TWO now, of BO and Bo.

I just have a feeling Prez Obama ended up with the dog *he* always wanted and needed.

I still say they need 4 dogs -- one for each.

11. That would be SO cute. And you're right, dogs DO choose their people.
I also have a feeling that logic-minded Barack, who perhaps thought a dog wasn't a good idea until the girls were older, has now been completely bowled over by that little Porty.

12. Yep. Remember that 60 Minutes interview right after the
election, when he said he didn't want a little 'girlie dog'? I think he wanted a larger, more athletic dog and that's what he got. And it sure looks like they've bonded.:-)

21. yeah he said a big rambunctious dog and why was this puppy sent back?
“Usually that works out all right,” said Stern. “But not this time. This little puppy was quite rambunctious, and I think he kind of barreled in there and tried to nurse off the older dog when he first got there. And she said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding.’ She did not understand this at all, and just lay around growling at him.”

Around two months ago, the owners made the decision to let the older dog have her peace and quiet back. “Vicki Kennedy found out about it, and she said, ‘This is a perfect situation, Martha.’ And after I thought about it, I had to agree.”

24. As I just got finished posting,
I know exactly what you mean. My husband was the reluctant dog person in our family, but our two sons convinced him. The new puppy was smart enough to immediately and extravagantly fall in love with my husband who has -- inevitably -- reciprocated.

Krautham-Limb-O'reilledup-Doofey-Malkin-Rove accused Obamaof a lack of a lack of patriotism for running through the building with a howling pack of wild foreign/alien/immigrant dogs, "What if they break a priceless old timey antiquey thingamajob."

FOX news headline: Barak Hussein Osama seen running with scissors."

19. Has Bo been officially introduced to the world yet now or is it yet to happen?
It seems their plans for formal introduction were usurped by the gossip sites.

Is that it now or is something else coming up?
