Chuckles Todd to Host New Show on MSNBC
Grooming one whorish tool (Todd) to replace another (Gregory)?

Chuck Todd to Host New Show

Multiple network sources tell the New York Observer that MSNBC is in the process of developing a weekend political show to be moderated by Chuck Todd, the network's political director and chief White House correspondent.

"The new show on MSNBC, to debut in late spring, would give Mr. Todd more experience as a political moderator and provide him with a good opportunity to develop his long-form interviewing skills."

2. I really wish they would give David Schuster another show.
I think he got a total screw job by MSNBC.

12. yeah, but still
It's more like an anchor block (even though he says he will incorporate "hypocrisy watch") of the Late Breaking News type, and he has to share it with Tamron.

21. I didn't realize that- I figured it was like Wolfie's job over at CNN. Plus better hours if
you want a life (and he just got married). He does deserve his own show.

4. You can always tell it's going to be a good show when
the two hooks are both "it will be a good opportunity for the host to get some experience." Everyone loves watching baseball players take batting practice for hours, right?

5. If this moves us closer to getting rid of Gregory on MTP
I'm all for it. Gregory has ruined that show....not that it had TOO far to go, but at least interviewees used to say newsworthy stuff. Not any more.

you, I don't see anything there.

they should bring on Nate Silver of 538-imho.

25. I agree, Nate would be a great addition. But I think they
wanted someone who will spin for the corporate masters, not someone with objective factual analysis.

All Todd does is repeat whatever Joe Scarborough says each morning. He bores me.

13. Translation....
Chuck sucked as chief White House correspondent and, seeing as he has a locked-in contract, we have to give him this show.

Todd seems so far out of his depth it is not funny.

15. Yep, ya gotta love this aspect...
"a good opportunity to develop his long-form interviewing skills." After watching him ask "long-form" aka assanine, multi-part questions at the WH briefings, he definitely NEEDS help in that direction, lol.

When you read their reasons for this move, the whole thing reads Chuck = FAIL.

17. He was a decent political analyst before Russert hired him
When he was a guest on MSNBC he seemed unbiased. After he got hired by MSNBC and started appearing on Morning Joe is when I noticed how he changed.

He's a different dude now - like he became a total toolbox once he got the MSNBC gig.

24. I liked him on CSPAN also
He would occasionally show some signs of his old self during the campaign when he would dissect the polls.

MSNBC is not using him to his full capacity. I don't think he was meant to be a TV star and it doesn't look like he knows how to deal with it. He looks very uncomfortable as the White House Correspondent.

26. There was a post yesterday about MSNBC
And I agree they need more on the weekends. And this will be a weekend show. I like it. I don't watch MTP mostly because it's on too fucking early. I watch the rerun later sometimes but I don't really care for Gregory. I would like them to get away from the gang bangers behind bars shit. Who cares. The Predator shows are good but they too are reruns. Always get a kick out of "This is my first time" and "I will never do it again" It never fails. LOL!

30. NBC News still has a huge void in DC left by Tim Russert
I was never a big fan of Russert, but he did a better job than these clowns NBC has got out there now. Gregory was better, albeit still quite deficient, at doing the White House coverage and Todd was better at doing the stats/analysis stuff. Now both of these guys are in positions that don't fit them very well and NBC News has no way out.
