Limbaugh's having a bad bad day. LOL
I'm sorry DU. But I couldn't wait 'til the idiot came on today to see what he was going to say. Hoisted by his own petard, he decided that he couldn't look like he was mad that the mission succeeded and that Obama is looking good, so he decided to bite the bullet and tell his audience that "we can't look like we wanted Obama to fail in this" so he proceeded to heap loads of praise on Obama.

Don't get me wrong. He was being facetious about it. That way, no one could say he wasn't praising Obama. Yet he did it in a way to suggest just the opposite. Having his cake and eating it too.

The big problem is, his listeners are too stupid to pick up on the fact that he was being facetious. LOL Call after call of confused wingnuts trying to understand why is Limbaugh giving Obama credit. Limbaugh keeps saying "oh boy" because he can't come right out and say to them, "don't you get it, I'm being facetious". If he did that, he knows he would come off as the anti-American shit that he really is.

It's hilarious. The guy who writes the talking points everyday just couldn't handle this one. I don't hear a same word theme today like you hear everyday.

The republicans are shattered.

3. Bill Bennett was very positive on his radio show this morning
He was more serious saying that when good things happen, you have to give credit. No sarcasm from him.

6. Not completely surprised.
Bennett, in my experience, isn't as devoted to being a 24-karat douchebag like Rush. So he can afford to be gracious.

My local conservative columnist had similarly complimentary things to say, here:

http://blogs.ajc.com/thinking-right/2009/04/13/on-piracy-us-shows-the-way/

Congratulations go first to the commandos, whose training and skill in taking out the pirates in choppy seas ended the five-day standoff that had nothing otherwise but bad possible outcomes. The commander of the USS Bainbridge, Frank Castellano, likewise had the judgment and the training and instinct to give the command to fire. And, of course, President Barack Obama deserves credit for allowing the military to do its job.

:eyes:

Hypocritical morons. They act like letting the military "do it's job" is something new. OTOH I suppose that, after eight years of Bush, letting the military "do its job" IS something new to them. Although, I think that we all know that if Bush or McCain were in office and the situation was resolved in the same way they'd be singing their praises to the heavens above. I guess we'll just have to settle for grudging respect when things like this turn out o.k.

26. Media Matters is hounding Rush and Rush is losing it
MMFA chronicles all the Limbaugh episodes now. Following their wrap up, its obvious that Limbaugh had no idea how to reply to Obama's success. Most of what Rush said about it didn't even make sense. In the past, Limbaugh would have come up with something dumb to say. But now, because MMFA has emotionally crippled him, Rush just babbles on with nonsense.

27. The Freepers are confused by their sainted RushBo's performance today, LOL!!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2228329/posts

Guys, it was a joke. Remember the thing with Will Smith playing Obama, Will Smith playing the Seals, Will Smith playing Captain Phillips, etc.?
I agree, however, that a lot of people obviously didn’t get it and it wasn’t a successful parody.

It was sarcasm and really flushed out of the woodwork the libs who ranted and raved at Rush's "complementing Obama!"
OK - you tired of Rush's "shtick" so turn him off or down. As there are many new listeners to Rush's show, he was showing them how it's done - remember Rush's April Fools Day shows, and this way the newbies learn just how skilled Rush is in getting people to jump to conclusions, unless they are really skilled at blotting out the MSM.

So sorry your day (3 hours) was ruined by listening to El Rushbo.
I thought that was what the on/off button was for.

Had to turn the car radio off.
Insufferable to say the least.
And those first few calls.......arrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh

Rush is mailing it in these days.

Rush was simply making the whole business of Obama playing at being President into an absurdity.
The still failing nascent obama regime has not yet found its gravitas.

More like people who don't like Rush...don't like him being mean or mocking to Hussein, sort of like the Frumoids, or the old Bob Michael Republicans who just want to get along.
Been there, done that!

Rush’s show today was strange. It was strange how he responded to a caller who said that the quality of the calls had been low. He said their selection of callers was intentional and intended to keep us on our toes.
He’s fiddling with the show to make it appealing to a wider audience, especially women. Someone, probably a dasterdly liberal, recently predicted that his show had passed its peak. I thought about that today.
All of the talk show hosts have the job of blabbing for three hours. I don’t know how they do it so successfully.

re: so turn him off or down
Works for me! I love to listen to him but every now and then he goes to near, or over, the edge and I just tune him out and listen to Dennis Prager. I used to be able to listen to Rush at noon and then a replay of Dennis Prager at midnight, but the local outlet now has John Gibson on at midnight so I have to choose between Rush and Dennis.

It's amazing how many people forget there are two controls on their radio that will solve the problem for them. One turns it off, the other changes the station. I guess we'll just have to keep reminding them!

More than a joke, Rush mentioned how the media/administration will use this great Obama victory over the dangerous Pirates of Somila (who posed a strategic threat to the United States)to boost his approval ratings in the polls... thus he can continue to move forward with his socialist economic agenda with the support of the American public.

Yes, I know what he was doing. There was no need to do it for three hours.

I’m thinking that this is credit earned for when they try to impose the Unfairness Doctrine. He can play clips over and over proving that he is fair minded.

Did Rush announce he was going to do this for three hours? I kept listening hoping it would change. If he HAD said he was going to do it for three hours I would have changed the dial.

I kept thinking he would move on to something else, but alas no luck. I was able to stand about half an hour of it, went to something else and came back but he was still doing it. Left, came back again and it was STILL going on. I figure he’s entitled to have a boring show once in blue moon, it’s got be tough doing it five days a week for 20 years!

28. Limbaugh driven to smoking again....
Dumb and pointless question: I am watching via dittocam and saw that at the 1:00 break it appeared that Rush lit a cigarette. I know he's a cigar smoker, and that he says he's holding something in his "formely (sic) nicotine stained fingers".

Did the Obama presidency make him restart the habit? Again, whether he does smoke butts or not is not my concern, just wondering if I was seeing things.

Rush forgot to flip on the dittocam during the last segment of the first hour, then flipped it on when he'd usually turn it off..
.
As he went off the air, he lit up a cigarette and left the studio! I thought he had formerly-nicotine stained hands?
