8. Now it's time to go after
the real pirates -- the ones on Wall Steet. They've robbed us of billions and are holding our economy hostage. So far, Obama has coddled them, paid them huge ransoms, while we get nothing in return. When will he unleash his snipers on them?

Forget the Somali teenagers, they amount to nothing in the overall scheme of things.

I know for a fact I read somewhere that George Washington killed 4 Pirates of the Carribean, on his way to America. Nice omitting of the facts, by leaving him out of your graph!

So there, stop with the Obama Cheerleading already!

22. A comment from "Joe" on CNN.com
Back on April 8, SoS Clinton expressed concern about Pirates...

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/08/clinton-deeply-concerned-about-pirate-attacks/

Here's a comment from "Joe"

"George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and many many more have all expressed concern about pirate attacks and all have never done anything about it except pay the pirates ransom and move on. Lets see if Hillary actually recognizes that standing idle will never solve this problem."

I'm guessing Obama certainly realized ransoms don't solve the problem.

27. Morning Joe woudl have failed high school US history with that comment
Even if he didn't read his history book, did he miss the words "to the shores of Tripoli. We will fight our country's battles ...". Jefferson did not "pay the pirates ransom and move on."

On Jefferson's inauguration as president in 1801, Yussif Karamanli, the Pasha (or Bashaw) of Tripoli, demanded $225,000 from the new administration. (In 1800, Federal revenues totaled a little over $10 million.) Putting his long-held beliefs into practice, Jefferson refused the demand. Consequently, in May 1801, the Pasha declared war on the United States, not through any formal written documents but by cutting down the flagstaff in front of the U.S. Consulate. Algiers and Tunis soon followed their ally in Tripoli.

In response, Jefferson sent a group of frigates to defend American interests in the Mediterranean, and informed Congress. Although Congress never voted on a formal declaration of war, they did authorize the President to instruct the commanders of armed vessels of the United States to seize all vessels and goods of the Pasha of Tripoli "and also to cause to be done all such other acts of precaution or hostility as the state of war will justify."

<snip>

The turning point in the war came with the Battle of Derna (April-May 1805). Ex-consul William Eaton, who went by the rank of general, and US Marine First Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon led a mixed force of eight United States Marines and 500 Greek, Arab and Berber mercenaries on a remarkable overland march across the desert from Alexandria, Egypt to assault the Tripolitan city of Derna.<6>

23. I notice you left Jefferson & Jackson off that chart
Jefferson had plenty more killed. Jackson, on the other hand, actually teamed up with pirates.

If he'd only teamed up with ninjas as well, he'd be our coolest president ever. Ever.

25. I bet the people who supported Jackson and Jefferson thought they were pretty cool too
They were actually two of the more colorful Presidents we had. Jefferson's workmanship was certainly at least on a par with Obama's. He was also a true Renaissance man with a fascinating range of interests.

I also think that it is possible that both Nixon and Johnson may have been responsible for some "pirate" deaths during the Vietnam War.
