Mark Penn; Democrat ...I mean democrat?

Bush Aide Perino to Join Firm Led by Clinton Adviser

"She's been through some incredibly difficult experiences at some of the highest levels, and comes out of that an extremely skilled practitioner," Mr. Penn said in an interview.

Other key members of Burson-Marsteller firm include Don Baer, a former Clinton administration communications director, Josh Gottheimer, a former Clinton speechwriter, and Karen Hughes, Mr. Bush's counselor who also served as undersecretary of State for public diplomacy.

Is this guy trying to be the next Dick Morris?

2. Well, that's not terribly surprising...
I always thought the reason Hillary's campaign failed was that all these people working for her were just in it to win. Mark Penn wasn't working for her because he believed in her cause-- he just wanted to win.

Obama's people believed in him and everything he stood for from beginning to end.

4. I agree with your synopsis.
And I'd include Hillary herself in that.

10. I don't think that was ultimately what caused her downfall
Edited on Tue Apr-14-09 05:07 AM by Hippo_Tron
Although I do believe that the dedication of Obama's people to the cause was a huge asset of his. Hillary's downfall was that she made her strategy decisions based on only the advice of Mark Penn and her husband. They were wrong on a lot of things and there was no dissenting voice to tell them otherwise. They convinced her to squander all of her resources on Super Tuesday in order to knock out Obama when anybody with half a brain could clearly see after Iowa that Obama had the momentum to stay in it for the long haul. Obama is President today because Clinton made bad strategic calls on the campaign trail. Had she made better ones she would be President and Obama would be Vice President.

5. Somehow Penn and Perino seem made for each other.
Both have mastered the fine art of screwing someone without removing any clothing.

I think I saw Mark Penn working at the LA Convention Center, valet parking cars.

The petulent twit looked great in his little gold jacket.

Perino reminds me of one of those wierd little mannequins all dressed up in discount fashions. You know, the kind you used to see at Mervyn's. All looks and no soul.

6. Penn has never been a small "d" democrat
but rather, he's a neo-liberal.

7. Isn't hillary so much better without schmucks like this?
Without these Repub-lite advisors, she's finally able to be herself and is making us all proud.
