Either the polling is wrong or FOX News is...
...tune in to Fox News, or other Murdoch-owned properties like the New York Post or the Wall Street Journal, and you'd think that times were never worse for our new President. You would think that a major insurrection, spearheaded perhaps by demagogue Glenn Beck, was about to take place, as evidenced by the hundreds (thousands?) of people across the country participating in "Tea Parties" and other protests. For the last week, this is all Fox News has been able to talk about--the Revolution is coming! Washington has failed! Just you wait and see!

...and then you look at the polling. Obama's popularity is still staying strong in the mid-60's. People are becoming MORE optimistic in the government finding a way out of this Economic mess, not less. And when you look at those "tax-happy" Democrats in Congress, you'll realize that they too are rather popular--at least, far more popular than the Republic party, which is receiving its lowest ratings in decades.

I don't put lots of trust in polling companies OR FOX, but could it be possible that these Tea Parties are (demographically speaking) not such a big deal? That they don't surround us; that we truly DO surround them? That what we're witnessing is not so much a full-out rebellion against Washington as it is the full-on psychosis of The Base within the GOP?

What's going on here?

1. They are clearing the fog away so that everybody can see that
they are on this tiny little island and everybody else is on the mainland.

Let them keep on identifying themselves as ignorant and irrelevant.

There will probably be more of us at these stupid tea parties enjoying looking at them make fools of themselves, than it will be them there. Then we will have to listen to the media tell us how many "revolutionaries" were there.

2. The right is collectively...
...suffering from delusions of grandeur. They think that they're Wagnerian heroes. Such delusions never end well, and seldom end peacefully.

Their call.

3. Faux is trying to create their own reality and hoping actual reality will follow.
If anything happens to President Obama over the course of the next 8 years, I hope those bastards at Faux get prosecuted.

4. Yep, a parallel reality. They suffer from the delusion that a majority of the country agrees w/them.

5. The idiots fomenting this crap don't realize that they can't
control it. Personally, I think it's getting dangerous.
