Beck: "You can't convince me that the founding fathers wouldn't allow you to secede"
Published Tue, Apr 14, 2009 5:47pm ET by Media Matters staff

The Constitution is not a suicide pact, and if a state says: ‘I don’t want to go there, because that’s suicide, they have a right to back out. They have a right — people have a right to not commit economic suicide...

...Texas says go to hell, Washington, which by the way has been said before. I believe it was Davey Crocket...it’s about time that somebody says that again."

2. Pretty damn close to it
They are approacing a line that once they cross they will not be able to recover from.

Beck feels untouchable right now...but when the shit hits the fan he will throw his hapless followers in front of him.....

7. Glenn Beck just committed an act of sedition.
He advocated secession from the United States. That's sedition.

3. So, Isn't Glenn Beck Essentially Saying That Lincoln Is Full Of S*&t?
I guess the civil war was just for shits and giggles? The amazing thing is that he will probably get very little blowback on this.

because Texas wasn't a part of the US then. Beck is a jerk, why did they draft the Articles of Confederation then.

13. Wrong, asshole--South Carolina tried it in 1832 and it didn't work,
and they did it again in 1860 (while managing to get a whole bunch of other Southern states to jump off the cliff with them) and it still didn't work.

ONE NATION, INDIVISIBLE. Those words are in the Pledge, Glenn. Why do you hate America?

16. Hey Glenn. Look up "Texas v. White"
The Constitution, in all its provisions, looks to an indestructible
Union, composed of indestructible States. ... Considered, therefore, as
transactions under the Constitution, the Ordinance of Secession, adopted
by the convention and ratified by a majority of the citizens of Texas, and
all the Acts of her Legislature intended to give effect to that ordinance,
were absolutely null. They were utterly without operation in law. ... Our
conclusion, therefore, is, that Texas continued to be a State, and a State
of the Union, notwithstanding the transactions to which we have referred
