President Barack Obama needs to hear from you about his decision on the torture memos.
Be respectful, be polite, but be firm: let President Obama know that we cannot move forward without making sure the illegal acts of the Bush era can never happen again.

Keith Olbermann gave many good reasons why not prosecuting those involved in torture will come back to haunt us in the future. If you missed Keith's Special Comment on Countdown last night, it's important that you watch it. Here's a link to the news article and video:

Let President Obama know that he is wrong to forgive and forget. As history proves to us, this always creates worse problems down the road. President Obama is a smart man, and he needs to realize he cannot just walk away from this. He needs to hear from all of us. He needs to know this is important to us, and he must take action. 1. When did O said he wasn't going to prosecute those involved...?
he never said no to Bush admin, he never said no to CIA officials who asked for permission after the fact...so what's your point? You want just the guys even below that to go to prison? To me that's a gray street that will cause a lot of problems. You'd rather have your one sided avenue...be my guest.

7. You need to watch Olbermann's Special Comment.
He explains exactly why we cannot make exceptions and not prosecute everyone who was involved. He used Nazi Germany as an example.

2. I assume you have access to all the same info Obama has,
since you are able to second-guess him so well from your home in {wherever you live}. Your post strikes me as provincial and simple-minded. You make it sound like you have all the answers that Barack is just too stupid to see.

Riiiiiight.

4. Yeah, and you believe that Obama is SO SMART that he
has a SUPER SECRET, SUPER SMART plan to bring the torturers and the ones who ordered the torture to justice. Obama is just a typical corporate politician who will do anything to protect the status quo and his fellow politicians.

5. OK. You're smarter than him, you have better judgment, you have more information.
Jeez, why aren't you president, rusty fender? We need a super-smart person with good judgment and access to all available information in the White House.

8. I'm not second guessing anyone.
History has shown time and time again that we cannot overlook those who have broken the law. You can't look ahead and forget about the past because it comes back to haunt you.

It's "provincial and simple-minded" to assume that these actions aren't going to happen again. In fact, history proves that they will happen again if they aren't dealt with NOW.

:eyes: yourself.

3. I've been ignored since 2006 when Democrats gained Congress.
I don't have to be hit over the head anymore.
