Change I'm starting to believe in.
Maybe it's still a little early to make this observation but I have noticed a refreshing change. Since we started changing course, Americans have begun to focus on courageous, remarkable and selfless people. We have gone from 24/7 coverage of Bernie Madoff and Britney Spears to uplifting stories of people like Captain Sullenberger, Captain Philips and his crew and even Susan Boyle. If I'm dreaming, please don't wake me up.

2. The Madoff story exploded last year
The miracle on the Hudson was just days before the inauguration.

5. A very HEALTHY change too
There are brave, wonderful people, preforming near-miracles all over the place and we are starting to notice again. That will take us from feeling beaten and hopeless to a people who can dare to dream again, as a group, and as individuals.

Inspiration. Something that the powers cheney and bush represented wanted to brainwash out of us. Inspiration is contagious and just the virus we need to combat the cancer of 'you just have to take it' that had made our people so ill of late.

4. After a decade of nothing but bad news, I'll take anything.
It is odd that the good news started almost to the exact day Bush left office.

6. Aren't we simply lucky that near disasters turned out well?
That is my take anyway.

7. There's an element of luck in all these stories but
without the remarkable people, the near disasters would have been real disasters. It wasn't luck that the eight year Bush disaster finally came to an end.

8. I agree it was frustrating to think of how boneheaded Bush etal were.
I guess now that we have a sane and rational administration we can focus on other things. Too bad the economy sucks.
