Today, some anchors were saying how Obama shaking hands and talking to Chavez could "backfire" on him by making him look naive if Chavez doesn't fully cooperate with him just like when Bush said he looked into Putin's eyes and got a sense of his soul and then Putin kind of turned against him. But there's a HUGE difference: Obama did NOT claim that his little encounter with Chavez made him realize he's a good guy. As a matter of fact, he said just the opposite-that shaking Chavez's hand and having a polite conversation does NOT mean he agrees with his policies or means ANYTHING about their "relationship." Bush, on the other hand, claimed he got a "sense of the man" by "looking in his eyes." This will NOT backfire on Obama as he never claimed that this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
