Poll question: Will the lawyers directed to produce legal opinions contrary to the Constitution

and US law become the fall guy legally so to speak for the crimes committed?

1. Your question contains a premise that they were "directed" to produce

legal opinions contrary to the Constitution - I happen to personally believe that premise.

It's one thing to ask a lawyer "are there any circumstances where we can legally torture people to obtain information"? and get an opinion.

It's another thing completely to say "hey, can you whip up a memo that makes torture legal so that these wimps who keep questioning the legality will get off our case and just do as they're told?" or some variation thereof.

The reason I believe that the second case happened is that all the commentary I have read about the the actual legal reasoning in the memos is that it is highly defective.
