Today's congressional testimony coupled with national outrage brought us a different tune than the Sunday version. Slightly better.
But the right thing has yet to happen, and my opinion about what is right and wrong has nothing to do with the actions of politicians.
Gibbs today saying they want it to be like the 9-11 Commision. I've read the book by the Commission heads and if you open it and count how many times they refer to electoral politics before they speak of the victims or families, before they ever dare ask the White House for papers, you might understand that such a commission will be a waste of time. Seriously, read the Hamilton book, count the word 'elections', and tell me at the end what really happened on 9-11, and if the commission made us more secure. Having read the book, such an analogy is not comforting. A better, idea with more teeth is needed. What we call court is needed.

The administration should have been on the same page. I'm not a hater, so I'm very happy with these developments. Now we can't stop here - the final outcome has yet to be determined.

While I think the guy is a great COS and streetfighter, he's not the best public speaker and can talk around an answer when he doesn't want to give one. During the Clinton years, some in the WH kept a running tally of "Rahmisms".

In this case, I think his brain couldn't catch up with his mouth. He should have stuck to a short answer.
