So since when is prosecuting torturers caving to the "far left"?
For f**k's sake, is this how far to the right the US has swung in the past few years?*

According to all 3 CNN pundits with Blitzer right now.

(*that's a rhetorical question)

1. Cable news is a joke. This idiot Wolf Blitzer also thinks we care what Mitt Romney says
Edited on Tue Apr-21-09 05:44 PM by Thrill
about how Obama is handling foreign policy. Please tell me where Mittens is an expert on foreign policy? He was running with it like it was a big story

2. Since the nation swung to the extreme right.
Political distance is relative to political position.

3. With that flag in your avatar, maybe you are unfortunate enough
to live in Canada and have to watch CNN. Ed Shultz is much better and more fun to watch on MSNBC.

I pity you if you can't watch MSNBC and have to live with Blitzer for your news source.

CNN is such a waste with Wolf.

5. Let me know when John Dean, Bruce Fein, and a few others who
have been speaking out about the abuses of the Bush** administration since before the '04 elections, are considered 'far left'.

Granted they left the republican party, but I don't consider them far left.

7. Avoid question, lie, exaggerate, attack straw man, "wash, rinse, repeat"
This may not be the right place for this and, as a newbie, I understand that I may be viewed with suspicion, but here goes.

Why the hell can't liberal media personalities just say "Cheney is a lying bag of pus and we simply refuse to treat his attacks on our President as valid political comment"? I think we sometimes get carried away with wanting to appear even-handed and tolerant. We have to acknowledge that in any contest between tolerance and intolerance, intolerance, by definition, must prevail. We, the tolerant, too often feel compelled to permit those who are dedicated to destroying us to "hit us with their best shot." I will tolerate just about anything---except intolerance. I will step on it every time it rears its ugly head.

I watched ED Shultz interviewing Tom Tancredo (GAG!) this evening and while this sonofabitch repeatedly dodged questions, interrupted, talked over Shultz and defended Dick Cheney as a great American, Ed kept smiling and, in my opinion, gently chiding Ol' Tom about the obvious bullshit he was spewing. Ed, how about YOU interrupting, taking control of YOUR show and saying "I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen. We'll end this waste of time here. I had assumed that a US Congressman speaking about the welfare of his nation on nationwide TV would have the decency and integrity not to repeat simple-minded political cheap shots instead of responding to serious questions. Congressman, if we need any more of what you're peddling, we'll hold our nose and check out the knuckle-dragger sites like Freerepublic."

I am grateful that we at least have some liberal programs now. I just wish we didn't feel obliged to tapdance around the obvious when some lying sack-o-shit needs slapped down. There may be two sides to every story, but sometimes one side is just so patently and blatantly false, wrong, dishonest or downright stupid that no reasonable person considers it worthy of consideration. Do we really need to "hear both sides" of whether or not the Holocaust occurred? How about whether or not the earth is flat? Whether global climate change is "real"? Whether Bush and Cheney were the most evilly-motivated and morally bankrupt administration in our history?

"If they pull a knife, you pull a gun. If they send one of ours to the hospital, we send one of theirs to the morgue!"---Sean Connery in "The Untouchables". Of course, I don't mean that literally. I am a liberal, after all. But, a little more of that attitude would be welcome.

13. Thanks
I've been right here---this tiny blue dot in a red, red ocean where "democrats" are vocally anti-union, anti-choice and proudly explain that they are "Blue Dogs---you know, like Joe Lieberman!"
I speak my mind, donate to liberals (NOT the DNC), freeway-blog and have even made the drive to DC to march in opposition to the war. I've been "lurking" since before I registered but, for reasons too boring to relate, haven't posted until recently. I'll try to throw my two cents in every now and then.

11. That seems to be the argument of quite a few here,
who have convinced themselves that they were not mistaken in their aggressive belief that Obama was "giving amnesty to torturers", but rather that Obama has flip-flopped on the issue as a direct result of their "activism."

12. CNN is picking up Fox's torch now... Now that Fox is so
completely "outed" as the Repug Channel...

They will become a laughing stock too unless they wise up.
