Edited on Wed Apr-22-09 11:18 AM by HopeOverFear
If you read GD, you'll see lots of threads where folks are expressing their disillusionment with Obama over issues like weed

The GOP (or actually people like Nader and Ron Paul) are counting or this. They figure in about a year's time, there would have been many people who have given up on Obama, and that's when they'll strike.

Just a thought.

5. They can wait all the want. Until they come up with an original idea
of their own, why should ANYONE with a brain pay any attention to them?

8. And they will
He'll lose some folks because the economy won't turn around fast enough. He'll lose some over the wars. He'll lose some over prosecutions (regardless of what he does or doesn't do). But he'll "gain" some as well, people who were concerned one way or another about a black president, or a young president, or a president that "paled around with terrorists", etc. Now they'll see him as THE president and feel more comfortable. And some of the folks that he'll lose won't exactly go GOP. They'll go back to various fringe candidates that pull people one way or another. Clinton got re-elected and he was a whole lot worse off than Obama may ever be.

The GOP is hardly "biding their time". They are licking their wounds and trying to figure out where to go. So far, they're lost. And their future is filled with Palin's and Jindahls, and various washed up has beens like Newt and Rush.

9. Wrong! There is now a Republican torture pony to play with
which will hopefully give months, if not years of enjoyment.

We have asked for this particular pony for years. Most other things (with the exception of healthcare) pale in comparison.

10. I don't call what they are doing now "biding their time"
They're attacking relentlessly, and still President Obama has an approval rating over 60%.

They've enlisted Newt (or he's appointed himself) to toss insult after insult at our president to see what sticks. They're in the testing period right now. Slinging mud and seeing what resonates.

And they're working hard on our conservative-dominated mass media to revise history and try to pretend Republicans didn't destroy our economy and promote war crimes.

And that war crimes aren't really crimes if you commit them hundreds of times and get three pieces of useful information out of them.

But most of our people know President Obama is doing his best to address the multiple catastrophes heaped upon him by Republican mismanagement.

I just hope that watching so many Republicans who supported the trashing of our country and constitution be given TV chat time will finally wake more people up to the fact that our media conglomerates are too big and powerful and dominated by right wingers.

It is amazing that any of those Republican blowhards are given any credibility when they participated in such destructive policies.
