Dick Cheney - Security Hazard

Given that Dick Cheney may be a threat to the security of the United States, I suppose he takes comfort in the fact that the Obama Administration can monitor his communications.

1. This is one of the many reasons...
I'm not in much of a hurry for Obama to give up all those powers that Bush so kindly left for him. The whole of the GOP must be writhing at the thought! Heh heh!

2. Democrats who believe that the Constitution is more than a piece of paper
are writhing also.

3. I think you missed the point....

There is a saying in French that doesn't translate well... to the effect of "a man never looks behind a door he hasn't stood behind himself".

Paranoid minds tend to assume everyone else is paranoid too. In fact, if you read Freeperville for entertainment, you will see they are convinced that Obama is abusing power in the same manner that Bush did.

My assumption would be that Cheney *would* indeed assume he is the subject of illegal surveillance.

HOWEVER, you are missing an important point. Dick Cheney could very well be the subject of a valid criminal investigation, and also be the subject of perfectly valid court-issued surveillance warrants.

If you look at your OP combined with the poster I was replying to there is an assumption of illegal surveillance that you an the poster are perfectly acceptable with.

4. He's already outed a CIA agent
And he declassified documents that he no legal right to.

So, you're right. He was a menace to national security even BEFORE this.

5. I hope he isn't still receiving national security briefings. I bet he is, though. nt

6. What difference would it make....

...it's not as if he appears to have obtained any useful information from them in the past.
