Only through prosecution of torture policy-makers can President Obama avoid the
"Gerald Ford" syndrome. Gerald Ford's pardon of Nixon was a serious crippling issue. I think President Obama and his advisors figured that out--that he could possibly suffer the same fate if he continued this "only looking forward" meme.

Now, President Obama had better figure out the correct course of action concerning labor and EFCA. If labor thinks he has abandoned them, they may torpedo his re-election chances. He cannot afford to lose rust belt states in 2012.
