Democratic candidate for Congress inspired by opposition to Obama
WICHITA - Retired court services officer Robert Tillman has become the first Democrat to enter the race for the Fourth District seat in Congress.

Tillman said he was inspired to run by Republican opposition to President Barack Obama's economic stimulus agenda.

"I watched that on CNN day after day after day," he said. "It was just hard. It affected me."

Then, he said he read an Eagle story about Republican National Committeeman Mike Pompeo's bid for the congressional seat, in which Pompeo said his goal was to oppose the Obama agenda.

The final straw, he said, was attending the April 15 "tea party" protest near Mid-Continent Airport.

1. Why did he attend that "tea party" crap?
He is a fan of the POTUS, right?

And they are fans of the POTUS.

Morbid curiosity I suppose.

4. Not a bad thing
It's always good to gather intel on what the enemy is doing, and make no mistake, the tea baggers are the enemy!

10. Why do cars slow down on one side when there is a wreck on the other side of the road?

3. the title of this OP implied that it may have been
the candidate's OWN opposition to Obama that inspired him. Guess I was wrong in interpreting it that way. heh. Good for him.

12. Presumably NOT a "blue dog" either
But there IS sometimes a distinction that has to be made. Evan Bayh may technically be a Democrat but his loyalties have often seemed questionable to me, particularly when he publicly announced a working group to oppose some of Obama's economic agenda.
