Why is Obama such a polarizing figure?
He's not. The claim is only made because his approval is so low among Republicans these days.

But the reason for that is that there are so FEW Republicans these days -- they're down to the hard core.

Thanks to Bush/Cheney, and now to Obama, millions of former Republicans now consider themselves Independents or even Democrats today.

1. I Think It's a Reflexive Reaction from Republicans
against the hate towards Bush. Has nothing to do with merit.

I do think there is an element of legitimate concern about the sheer size of the deficits. It is based, however, on not understanding that Bush's deficits were much larger than reported and that Keynesian fiscal stimulus is necessary during a recession.

3. I agree. He's not.
The rabid extreme rightwingers should
be polarized.. out of existence, or at
the least ineffective marginalization.

imho, it isn't that Barack is black, it is that he is a democrat. Well, maybe just a little that he is black.

8. Why?
Because he is Black.
And competent.
And smart.
He is doing exactly what he said he would.

How dare he disabuse some idiots of the notion that a Black man can't be smart enough to not only run this country, but to fix what the last President, (a White guy), fucked to a fare-thee-well?

11. Oh, yes he is.
He has what They can never have: charisma plus relative honesty. They have to hate him, and undermine him at every step.
