Media In Full Assault in Trying to Justify Torture.
That it worked is a lie.

But even if true, that's not a defense.

Having had to put up with torture committed in our name, we now have to be subjected to the vile, retched, sordid aftermath. Listening to assholes trying to justify it.

1. Bring it on--we're on to them.
Obama set up Cheney & Co. like bowling pins, and now they're running like roaches in a light beam.

2. Rec'd~ The corporatemedia is just making
themselves look really bad again. They've already lost all their credibility and all they have left is to defend their fascism.

3. Torture is torture is torture.
Whether or not it worked is not the point. A prisoner might have talked in exchange for a PB&J or cigarettes, but that will never be known. There's a reason the FBI walked away from this early on.

5. It took thousands of years, and a ton of blood, to evolve
the rights of man. It was 1,000 years ago that we evolved to the point of realizing that torture was morally wrong.

It was killing me to think that after all humans went through to evolve, that we were going backwards. I felt that way all the way through Bush's term.

I'm so thankful that Obama is stopping this nonsense, that I have plenty of patience with how and if investigations ensure. The most important thing is to stop it. If we get some prosecutions out of it, icing on the cake.

6. Someone needs to ask if we were wrong to condemn Stalin's, Mao's, Pinochet's, etc...use of torture
since we're now defending our use of it.

7. it's disturbing
how many in the media are desperate to marginalize any investigation with "oh, but didn't Nancy Pelosi know? If so, it doesn't matter if it was illegal" or "But, didn't it work? Then it doesn't matter that it was illegal."

9. The corporate media live in their own
bubble of reality as well, that's the only thing, too many of them are worried about.

If justice ever comes to those people, the corporate media enabled and camouflaged for so long, with a few rare exceptions, it will be spite of the corporate media, not because of them.
