The "Banana Republic" meme was mentioned on TWO different local radio programs today
Two right-wing hosts both referred to torture prosecutions making us look like a "Banana Republic".

Then I heard it on a national program.

Seems like a coordinated "memo" went out to all the Right-wing media personalities to go with the same talking point.

4. Rove himself wrote that one--and Sen Specter repeated it the next day--tell me
Do Banana Republics believe you can get useful info by torture? kinda think so.

5. Howard Fineman had a great comeback to this
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 03:19 PM by Cali_Democrat
He said that if it's true that the Bush administration tortured terror suspects in order to get false confessions about a link between Saddam and Al-Qaeda and use that "link" to justify the Iraq War, well then who was behaving like a Banana Republic?
