FOX News, Shep "WE DON'T FUCKING TORTURE"
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 09:08 PM by grantcart
On edit:

In earlier threads, here for anybody that missed those earlier reports:

Sheppard Smith is obviously a conservative guy, but he doesn't follow the memos and when he shows his own mind he can be even more effective than Rachel or Keith.

Good job Shep. Get off that train.

Sheppard Smith goes balistic about torture

On FoxNews.com's online show The Strategy Room, Smith took his opposition to a whole other level. "We are America!" he shouted, slamming his hand on the table. "I don't give a rat's ass if it helps. We are AMERICA! We do not fucking torture!!"

Go to the second window to hear Shep scream at these idiots. Even after he yells at him they still persist.
He also makes the point that whether it is effective or not is irrelevant.

The above rant came after he was on the air with this longer clip and you can see why he eventually lost his temper with these idiots.

Huffington Post explains

Fox News viewers witnessed a rather incredible scene on Wednesday as anchor Shepard Smith and Fox contributor Judith Miller (of CIA leak infamy) repeatedly and passionately condemned torture, with Smith declaring at one point, "We are America, we don't torture! And the moment that is not the case, I want off the train! This government is of, by, and for the people -- that means it's mine. That means -- I'm not saying what is torture, and what is not torture, but I'm saying, whatever it is, you don't do it for me! I want off the train when the government starts -- I want off, next stop, now!"

1. Shepard Smith will not have a job at Fox Noise for much longer--he went off the Kool-Aid.

This has been posted many, many times, and we love it. Just because you found it late doesn't mean the rest of us haven't already been diggin' it.

9. Was he saying...we don't torture, therefore, what we did must not have been torture?
Or was he saying that he was shocked to learn that we'd been waterboarding?

11. He was saying that all of the talk about whether or not it was
effective or not was bullshit because the ends don't justify the means, we are Americans and we don't torture.

10. Was that Shep?
I have a confession to make....sometimes I watch his show.
He's really not that bad. He basically just reports news. Not alot of spewing.
He's on the same time as Tweety and sometimes Tweety annoys the crap out of me with his interrupting and his know it all attitude....
so I switch on Shep. (Lou is on CNN at that time)

O'REilly comes on after Shep, and many times Shep will make a rude comment - like 'here's O'Reilly - you can be sure he will tell you how he feels about ----"

I think Shep is moderate repug - he can be normal at times.

13. FFS, DU. Why only four recommendations??? Come on, seriously.
***Recommended***

If two Fox spokespeople find the memos appalling, that says a hell of a lot.

I like Shep, for a Fox news guy, and here he is seriously disturbed and challenging one of the typical asshats, I love it.

When the other side is sincerely upset, it's serious.

Thanks, grantcart.

14. It's not what Shep says that is telling
It is the look on his face and his body language. He is absolutely disgusted with the company he is keeping in that segment. Jesus, I thought he was going to vomit on himself. He looks as if he just realized what a den of evil he works for. Unbelievable.
