Senator Franken Update: oral arguments June 1 in state SC
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota will head into the summer months without a second U.S. senator under the Supreme Court's schedule for hearing Republican Norm Coleman's appeal.

The court said Friday that it wouldn't hold oral arguments until June 1. It's later than Democrat Al Franken had hoped. In the meantime, the two sides will file their briefs.

1. This is beginning to approach absurdity.
So oral arguments are 6/1, how long do you think it will take for an opinion?

2. If this were a congress seat - then we would have lost 25% of the term.

4. June 1??
That's not acceptable. I know the GOP is corrupt and morally bankrupt as shit, but I can't believe somebody in the party can't convince this moron Coleman to GIVE IT UP. The Democrats need to start pounding this issue on a national level. We cannot let the will of the voters be hung up by endless litigation. This should have been solved by January.

9. why would they? as long as franken is stuck in this, he is not being seated as a senator
and therefore the dems don't have another senator for votes. what would it be?? 59? they want this to drag out.

8. at this point a cynic might think that coleman is just trying to keep franken from being
seated because then the dems would have another senator, not that he ACTUALLY thinks he should win. i hope coleman loses AND destroys his chance at any future political career in the process as his thank you for this baloney.

10. I guess five million people not being represented properly
in the US Senate is less important than Norm Coleman's ego. Jeez, if I lived there I'd be pretty outraged by now.

11. It's time for Reid to insist that Franken be seated.
Let the Rethugs filibuster until they turn blue -- don't back off, make them filibuster.

17. Good luck with that ... if "Give em hell" Harry is too chicken-shit to filibuster Alito and is
seemingly scared shitless to allow a commission re: torture, good luck he has "the stones" to demand that a fellow senator be seated. :(

12. GOP, The Leaderless Party.....Unable to MUZZLE LOOSE CANNONS like Normie and Bachmann
will continue to pay the price of Stubborness...more election losses.

Bulliness is out of vogue....the Pubs did not get memo...

Yet, the continuing of Bully signs baffle the interested....why would they persist with a losing strategy??

Is it a collective DEATH WISH?
