The Torture Juggernaut has crashed the gates!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juggernaut

An unstoppable force that crushes all in it's path.

Yep, that's about right. Took awhile, but I always knew it would break its leashes.

3. Bad News, Americans (50%) think torture is just fine.
http://people-press.org/report/510/public-remains-divided-over-use-of-torture

Here's the link to Pews survey about torture. Shows change over time (None).

Basically, all this talk about Americans being above all that stuff etc. is a bunch of bull.

Just pray you have friends when they come to pick you up for all that anti American talk you've been doing.

5. The Numbers, Sir, Need Careful Reading
In questions like this, only the extremes matter. People answering 'sometimes' or 'rarely' are up for grabs, and will sway in a political pinch towards one of the extremes. Persons saying 'never' outnumber persons saying 'often' by five to three: assuming both extremes press their case with equal vigor, that is how the middling portions will break as well. The thing to concentrate on is that torture is a crime under U.S. law, and that it is a crime whether it is 'justifiable' or not. This neutral standard lends great strength to the 'never' extreme, if exploited properly.

9. We have Shep Smith on our side...and he's taking out Fox.
While the rest of the MSM is on our side except for a few stray guests. I'm not too worried, but that's not to say the concern isn't deserved or building.

4. When the ADD cable network news keeps a story ...
in the limelight for more than three days, it's probably got legs.

There will be a senate hearing. Count on it.

If they can hold a hearing over a juiced up ex baseball pitcher, surely to gods, we can hold a hearing about the atrocities of torture mandated during the bush admin.

11. That was one of the most the most weird, cryptic phrases...
to come out of the former admin.

What was her name???? The female NY Times reporter that was having an affair with Scooter Libby?

What the hell was her name?

JUDITH somebody?????

14. It wasn't really all that cryptic. It's more amazing how uncryptic it was for someone attempting to
be cryptic.

The aspens are turning, connected at the roots, blah, blah ,blah

Quick interpretation - "Cheese it, the cops!"

15. Wasn't that weird? Am I the only one to note it and..
remember it as being super weird at the time?

I thought Scooter and Judith were boinkin' each other and fancied themselves to be deep cover operatives at the time.

It was actually funny back then.
