Obama To Tap Roemer (Nuclear Proliferation Specialist) As Ambassador To India...
Edited on Sat Apr-25-09 05:18 PM by BlooInBloo
I don't know much about him, but getting someone who's big thing is nuclear proliferation into that area sounds like a great idea to me.

http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/report-roemer-to-be-tapped-for-india-amb.-2009-04-25.html

"Former Indiana Rep. Tim Roemer (D) may find himself back on the government payroll if, as expected, President Obama nominates him to be U.S. Ambassador to India.

Earlier this month, Foreign Policy Magazine reported Roemer, president of the Center for National Policy, would be the administration’s pick to represent the United States in Asia’s largest developing democracy.

But the White House refrained from commenting on any potential announcement regarding the ambassadorial selection.

“We do not get into personnel decisions until they are announced,” National Security Council spokesman Mike Battle told The Hill.

Roemer, a former member on the 9/11 Commission, has been particularly active on nuclear security issues and radical Islam in the Afghanistan and Pakistan realms. He currently sits on the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism."

EDIT: Here's his wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Roemer - sounds like a good guy.
