I don't think Gibbs likes Chuckles Todd
It's at the Press briefing. They're annoying about this whole Solis and the Pres.

The second point is that they brought up the 900 million taken out of stimulus bill, Gibbs said he'll look into it.

Actually I think he's annoyed by the others. Chuckles Todd won't leave him alone.

1. I saw
Gibbs say (in response to Todd asking about whether the swine flu thing is hampered by not having an HHS secretary) "Can you point me to something that indicates we are being hampered?" It was like the 3rd time someone brought it up, so I guess it could get annoying. And Todd asked Gibbs whether the White House owed NYC an apology.

6. That NYC thing pissed me off.
I was like Chuckles as a New Yorker...you need to calm yourself. I'm sure the Pres is not aware of every move Air Force one does. Much like Gibbs doesn't know. I don't know I think they confuse O with God, frequently.

12. I can see asking about the NYC thing
but if he was really concerned, he should have made THAT his question, instead of echoing the HHS secretary question for the 4th time before asking about NYC . Heh, maybe he was thinking "Don't you think that you OWE those of us who TRAVELED with you to Mexico an apology??"

19. Yup and they also said that the NYPD were aware this was going to happen.
So I need more info and I felt that clown, Chuckles, needed more info before talking.

23. Interesting. My first reaction to the airplane over NYC was what a stupid move. And my second
thought that followed about 5 seconds later was thinking that Chuckles would try to make hay out of it.

What a predictable ass.

5. I think that someone
posted recently that Todd said he has known Gibbs "for years" and would not lie to him about some particular thing. I don't remember what it was about. Maybe Todd is ok personally, but just a pain in the ass during the briefings on a regular basis.

13. Todd once responded to someone saying Gibbs might be lying by saying
Gibbs doesn't lie. He said something like he might avoid answering but if he says something it isn't a lie...that he'd known him over 10 years and he is a really good, honest guy. So maybe they are friends.

I have a fond spot for Todd as irritating as he can be. (Though he was great at numbers he isn't so great at the rest of it) Do you remember when he was with Brian Williams as he interviewed McCain/Palin? After that interview Williams and Todd were getting interviewed on msnbc. Williams tried to be restrained but Todd couldn't get over the tension between the two and said something about the room being filled with negative vibes.
Todd is not a vibes guy so if he was feeling it they must have been pretty powerful. Anyway between his honesty with numbers before the election, his defense of Gibbs and that vibe thing I can't help being a little fond of him

16. yeah, I remember that
but then he had to (or was forced to? Don't know) post a weird and un-needed message on First Read the day after saying "Remember when I said that they don't have chemistry, guys? Totally not a big deal! I guess it's just a matter of being too concerned about the optics", or something stupid. I think that the suits try to pull him in that direction a lot of time.

7. Who could fucking blame him?
Chuckie is an intellectual wannabe that can't even have his staff come up with cogent questions.

Todd wants to be a star.

21. Generally they seem to like one another....
.... and they're always doing a lot of snapping back and forth at one another in a good natured way.

But that BS today about the flu thing was out of control.
