Analysis: Obama can't expect rubber stamp from Democrats, but Bush could...
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/04/28/crowley.obama.democrats/index.html

There is so much wrong with the Dems in congress when they were willing to "rubber stamp" the bUsh agenda, and then assert the power they relinquished once again when Obama gets in office...

1. It was Dems, like Sam Nunn, that stopped Clinton's progressive agenda. nt

2. and Dems in congress constantly butted heads with Carter...
Democrats have this desire to show everyone that they're not "yes men" to their own party.

4. That's the most frustrating thing. Evan Bayh didn't create his new DLC "Gang of 15"
during Bush's term when spending was out of control; illegal wiretapping; torture; and increasing deficits. Now, all of the sudden, these fake Democrats want to hold Obama accountable? Why didn't they hold Bush, Cheney and the Repukes in Congress 'accountable'?

9. yes, although the goals of each organization are quite distinct
Bayh never stated he was starting a second Senate New Democrat caucus. His stated goal was to start a Blue Dog senate caucus.

7. Dems would come to the Senate Floor and announce "I have voted
with Pres. Bush75%, 80% 90% of the time."

Of course his own party voted to push his agenda through.
