2. I love that dress, and seeing her with Hillary makes me smile.
No drama between them. Dems are adults.

14. She certainly looks better in an A-style dress
or any that flares out, than in any of the sheets that hug her. She is too large a woman to wear body clinging dresses.

3. I LOVE the dress, but it seems more casual than everybody else there.
The shiny blue stripes are great.

4. Michelle can do casual and still be classy.
The more I see her, the more I appreciate that she is setting her own style.

6. Seeing McConnell holding hands with Reid is...well...
I'll take it as a good thing that Michelle can get them together for this very important occasion.

Thanks for the pics! :hi:

9. Sojourner Truth is a favorite of mine, So glad she was honored.
we need more women of history honored and this was a very good choice.

And Mrs. Obama looks lovely and can set a new standard for what is appropriate wear. After all, not too long ago all of those women would have been wearing hats and gloves.

10. This isn't my favorite dress style for M.O, but it's her choice, of course.
The high waist makes her look short-waisted and that shifts too much proportion to her hips. I'd rather see her in a longer-waisted top, say to the top of her hips. I think her proportions would be more in balance.

But that's just me. She looks great, no matter what.

12. I'm inclined to agree with you regarding proportion
that and to me the silhouette of the dress is to 50's for my taste.

But I like that it's not fussy, and not a pantsuit!

17. I think she is high-waisted -- you see it in the way her belts sit...
It's funny, but my own "younger" proportions were so different from hers that it's like I'm measuring her against some inner yardstick. I'm short, but long-waisted. I like clothes with clean lines, no fuss. The same styles on Michelle look totally different, starting with the fact that her legs seem to go on forever. She's just a gorgeous woman in her 40s.

19. The long jackets getting belted higher is cute. It's like a style all her own.
Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 07:35 AM by Ilsa
But I think the jackets belted that way are straighter, versus this full skirt, and they look better proportionally, also.

I think with a high waist, maybe belts should be skipped alot of the time (certainly not all of the time). The turquiose dress she wore at the convention was one of my favorites.

11. Great pics, Michelle and Hillary are looking good as always, but..........
What is that white circle thing on Harry's right hand? anyone else notice that? It looks like some kind of discoloration. Look on his right hand....

20. His dermatologist probably zapped him there: he's from one of the intensely sunny states, after all.
Just my guess.
