1. I had a feeling, he has been working on him for quite some time.
They are friends and used to commute together.

3. I'm sure Joe and Arlen have done plenty of train rides to DC together
I wish Joe would have worked on our own Mike Castle - Castle might run for Senate and he's very popular here in Delaware. Castle is moderate like Specter.

5. Biden and Daschle were close to getting McCain to switch back in 2003, and THAT is what
led to the McCain for Dem VP talk. Kerry would ONLY consider McCain IF he left the GOP, and since he didn't it was a nonstarter.

6. Good. That makes me feel better about this.
If Biden pushed him to switch then hopefully it's a good thing...I know Biden has our back on EFCA, so he would not push Specter to switch if he is still going to obstruct it (hopefully).

7. A few days ago, someone asked me ... "Where's Biden? Does he do anything?"
I said, "Knowing Biden, I'm sure he's working quietly, behind the scenes, to make sure things get done." :D

11.  Yup. If this is the result his working behind the scenes then that is good for me!
Specter is not great but I will take 60 votes to at least get things done.

9. Please a zebra never changes his stripes. Spector will continue to
be the same self-serving pompous conservative ass he has always been no matter which side of the aisle he sits on.

We do not need obstructionists like Spector within the Democratic party.

Perhaps he is one of the "new Democrats". God forbid.

13. I knew Joe's connections in the Senate
would pay off for the Dems. He has great relationships with senators on both sides of the aisle.
