Please Welcome Arlen Specter to the Democratic Party ! (Link to Email Contact Form)
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 01:16 PM by K Gardner
It doesn't matter what negative connotation anyone might wish to put on this - it is a HUGE day for the Democratic Party and a very BAD day for the GOP. I hope Specter continues to vote his conscience, but no matter how he votes, he is now a Democrat and this can only spell further demoralization, defections and extremely bad press for the remnants of the faltering GOP.

Please join me in welcoming him to THE BIG TENT. I could only find this link to his web site.. its a contact form. I just selected TOPIC: OTHER and put "WELCOME" in the header. He's going to be getting a lot of flak. Let's show him we can and will be gracious and appreciative.

2. Sorry, it's going to be hard for me to welcome Specter to the Democratic Party
given his record.

Look it up. It's all in the public records.

10. Joe B needs to have a sternly worded talk with Specter to advise him
what "supporting the Dem agenda" means.

complicity in JFK's murder all the way through the Clarence Thomas hearings right up to screwing labor with his opposition to EFCA, he has voted with the pukes every time his vote mattered.

He is completely untrustworthy.

Welcoming him is like inviting a snake into your child's crib - and the Democratic Party ain't no damn Baby Hercules.

We don't need him and certainly don't want him.

Why - his vote cannot be counted on.

The only positive I can see on the horizon resulting from this is if he is very sick and knows he won't make it to/through the 2010 campaign. He can soothe his conscience (but pukes usually don't have one) for a year or so by trying to atone for all the damage he has done over the years. Then, let him fade away and maybe the party will put up a real Democrat. Not another Casey, for Christ's sake, but a liberal.

Any other scenario will just wind up hurting any leftward move by the party, and the country.

Go away, Magic-Bullet Boy.
