Susan Collins comments on Specter
A few minutes earlier, Maine Republican Susan Collins walked in, lamenting the move, "I am very, very disappointed. It means there will be no more checks and balances on Democratic control."

Screw you! America voted for Obama's agenda. And obstructionism isn't the same as checks and balances.

1. Oh well. Snowe understands
politico: "you haven't certainly heard warm encouraging words of how views moderates. Either you are with us or against us."

4. Wow...the rest of that quote is even better.
“Ultimately we're heading to having the smallest political tent in history they way things are unfolding,” Snowe said. “We should have learned from the 2006 election, which I was a party of. I happened to win with 74 percent of the vote in a blue-collar state, but no one asked me, 'How did you do it?' Seems to me that would have been the first question that would have come from the Republican Party to find out so we could avoid further losses."

So true!

16. Hope she does
Do not like Collins much (and not only because of that annoying voice of hers). I find Snowe much more trustworthy.

Someone posted it elsewhere. I believe there are 58 congress-critters from Maine through Pennsylvania, and only four are now Republican.

And one Socialist! I wonder if we will actually see Socialists come to outnumber Republicans in the Northeast within the next decade?

I could be wrong but I think by history Snowe Is more a true moderate while Collins mainly pretends to be one In order to get
Elected.

15.  Chuck Schumer BRAGS about de-funding Pandemic and STD’s Funds………

Just a gentle reminder. Collins was NOT alone on the de-funding. She had help from influential Dems who bragged about the de-funding—not only for the pandemic flu issue but also for the de-funding of money for STD’s. Put the blame where is belongs –both Dems and Repugs were involved in this travesty of defending in the Senate.

Just in case you did not see this OP:

For New York, the bill represented a resounding victory, Sen. Charles Schumer said...

"There was an attempt on the floor to cut New York's money and we defeated it," Schumer said. "New Yorkers can feel proud and walk tall because the federal government is coming to our aid in a way commensurate with our needs, as opposed to helping the rest of the country and sort of giving crumbs to New York..."

He said the compromise hammered out between Senate Democrats and moderate Republicans - which has enough support to get it past any threat of a filibuster - was far better than that passed by the House on Jan. 29.

"All those little porky things that the House put in, the money for the Mall or the sexually transmitted diseases or the flu pandemic, they're all out," Schumer said.

----

Personally, I think Schumer is a little porky thing.

20. I happen to think Schumer is also stupid when it comes to the pandemic funding.
And don't get me started on Reid for letting the Repukes push him around on this. He's spineless, as usual.

Harry Reid used to box Golden Gloves. Well, so did my Uncle Shirley, also in rural NV. And he could have whupped Reid's wimpy little behind, and probably did at one time.

24. Collins was reveling in her status as a "swing vote" moderate,
which is absolutely laughable. Any Republican who doesn't have flames coming out of their nose is considered a moderate. Now Collins is back to being a nobody in a party of losers. ROLF

Ahhh. That's too bad.
