1. Looks like a bust of Darth Vader's love child with Tracy Chapman.
Ain't she supposed to be a woman?

4. The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati has an exhibit of bronze statues
of slaves being sold. One on the Slave traders has the face of George W Bush. We took our kids and our son (then age 11) walked ahead of us and when he turned the corner said "look Mom they made bush a Slave trader" Great museum. Worth a trip!

6. That is a fair likeness of Sojourner Truth - an extremely courageous woman

I imagine that some of her facial characteristics could have come from beatings when she was a slave. I do not think this is a great subject to caption with silly remarks.

Former slave, abolitionist and women’s rights advocate Sojourner Truth, born Isabella, spent the last twenty-six years of her life in Michigan. Truth was bought and sold four times and spent the first twenty-nine years of her life as a slave in New York, performing demanding physical labor. In her teens, she married another slave and raised several children. A law that passed in 1817 should have made Truth free by the time she reached age twenty-five but by the time she was twenty-nine, she was no closer to her freedom and so ran away in 1827 to the home of a neighboring abolitionist family. The family bought Truth’s freedom from her master for twenty dollars. With the family’s help, Truth successfully sued for the return of her five-year-old son who was sold illegally to Alabama.

And I can't imagine why anyone would assume this was supposed to be a bust of Michelle.

11. Guess many have not heard of Sojourner Truth or seen her pictures
But since seeing pictures of battered women, and then looking at her picture I really think that she was beaten. She has elegant bone structure but with a lot of irregularities on top. And of course, her picture was not taken until she was an elderly lady.

She deserves a lot of respect, not ridicule.

12. csziggy, there was no offence meant to the memory of Sojourner Truth, it was....
....Michelle Obama and Nancy Pelosi's funny expressions that seemed ripe for captioning.

14. I understand your original intent, but look at the comments and "captions"
Most are inappropriate and disrespectful of this great woman. Maybe the commenters are ignorant of who they are writing about, but that does not make it better.
