Freeper comments on the civil war in the party
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2239966/posts

It’s people like you folks that worry me. You are the ones that will make the party look like extremists, and frankly, anyone that enjoys a political civil war within their own party doesn’t have the good of the party at heart.

-uh oh a sane one
=============================================================================================================================
and now for a little of something different

With the loss of a handful of RINOs and the disgracing of the few who hang on by the Democrats (See how the Dems blamed Snow for the flu fighting funds) there's simply no room for anything approaching a "civil war".

The party is now a Conservative Party and it is prepared to win elections since it no longer needs to censor itself to shoehorn a couple of RINOs into the Senate to gain control of the meetings.

Newsies who persist in talking about "the coming civil war", or "disputes among Republicans" should be added to the master list of THOSE WHO WILL NOT BE GIVEN INTERVIEWS.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“that will make the party look like extremists”

Who are you worried about appearances with, by the way? We have absolutely no influence in the lame stream media and moderation is as populist a message as watching grass grow or paint dry. We need to get back to our conservative populism - while recapturing the inimitable way in which Reagan also reached blue dog Dems during the electoral process. Other than that - who cares about appearances?

By the way, the Tea Party masses are a good start toward rallying that conservative majority back/forward to its populist successes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what the dems want. We are going to fight...for what is right and for the values that Reagan thought were worth fighting for.

4. Well its common knowledge that the best way to get your message
out there is to tell the media to fuck off and have giant rallies where no one knows what the fuck you are rallying for.

2. Wow, they just don't realize what a minority they are.
I think a growing number of people are thinking, "Wow, I don't have to go along with racism, I don't have to act afraid of progress, of programs, of new ideas."

I think the country is moving ahead, catching up to the civilized world.

And Freepers are just clinging to the past.

6. I truly hope that this leads to a new party being formed
and America turning into a three party system - with three legitimately big enough parties. Obviously we have Greens and other parties, but they're so small, they don't matter.

If we're lucky, the Republicans will split into two parties, neither of which are big enough to challenge dems.

And, if we're really really lucky, even the dems will dissolve into multiple parties, and the United States can enter a time of multi-party politics in which no one has a majority and thus every politician has to try to sway and work with people of other parties.

7. These people are even dumber than I thought...
the majortiy of the country sees them as extremist loons that refuse to compromise...and that is their death knell. The "all or nothing" crowd is not just stupid, but insane as well.

Fine by me, the GOP is history for at least a generation at this rate. I need to send bush a thank you note for destroying the R's, and a bigger one to the Limbaugh and his ilk for burying it.

12. they still think the tea parties were a triumph
and not the laughing stock everyone else saw them as
they fail to notice that every time their true faces and extremism get highlighted we win:
-Dems gained seats in every congressional election for three cycles after the country met newt, bill was re-elected, not for following dick morris' rightwingery, but because voters wanted a check on the nutjob.
-impeachment gave dems huge gains in '98
-obama gained points in all polls following the tea parties
etc, etc. etc.

without 9/11 to scare the country for a 5-year fluke, the gop has been in a steady collapse since '94
