1. Good. I hope they hear about it, too. I hope their idiot constituents
are ashamed of themselves for putting those two "morans" in office.

11. Shame? Surely you jest!
John "God won't permit the polar ice caps to melt" Shimkus is my "Congressman". People in my hometown think he is a "fine Christian man" and are proud of his refusal to go along with the "hoax" of climate change.

And people wonder why I drink?

13. Last fall I drove through Foxx's district to get to some good hiking spots...
and saw a DISTURBING number of McCain/Palin signs. Some just Palin. Those who put Foxx in office won't be ashamed, but there are plenty of good people in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas who must be pretty disgusted.

2. Hmmm. I wonder who has memorialized her hate on her wikipedia entry.
Hmmmm...

Position on the Matthew Shepherd Act (Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007) - H.R. 1952

On April 29, 2009, while sitting across from Judy Shepherd -- the mother of Matthew Shepherd, after whom the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 is colloquially referred to -- Rep. Foxx issued the following statement:

“I also would like to point out that there was a bill -- the hate crimes bill that's called the Matthew Shepard bill is named after a very unfortunate incident that happened where a young man was killed, but we know that that young man was killed in the commitment of a robbery. It wasn't because he was gay." Rep. Foxx continued: "This -- the bill was named for him, hate crimes bill was named for him, but it's really a hoax that that continues to be used as an excuse for passing these bills."

An April 29, 2009 weblog posting by Politico.com collumnist Glenn Thrush cited the following observations of Rep. Foxx's remarks:

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), who supports the hate crimes bill, stared in disbelief before answering a question about the statement. "It's just sad the Republican caucus has been reduced such a fringe," she said. "It's sad they would go out of their way to prevent people from getting justice."<10>

While Ryan Grim, of the Huffington Post, cites Rep. John Lewis (D - GA) responded to Rep. Foxx's remarks with the following statement:

"She should be ashamed," said Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), himself a victim of a hate crime during the struggle for civil rights. "That is unreal, unbelievable. The law enforcement people and almost every reasonable person I know believes he was murdered because he was gay."<11>

April 22, 2009: Hate Crimes Bill Passes House The House of Representatives just passed HR 1913 -- The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 -- on a vote of 249-175. The bill, which Obama has urged Congress to pass, would extend federal hate crimes laws to cover sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability, as well as race, color, religion, national origin, and sexual orientation.

18 Republicans voted in favor. 17 Democrats voted against.

6. Wikipedia has a pretty good policy and system of enforcement.
The entry can be deleted by someone, but then the deletion would be challenged and the challenge would probably be successful and the entry restored.

The entry can be challenged, but there's nothing about it that would warrant deletion.

I think it will stick.

4. she's the same crazy, hateful, rude idiot who has been a tool in the interrupting
of first term Dem. Congresspeople with the intent to intimidate and embarrass them, as shown on Keith and Rachel several months ago.

7. KO called for her to resign.
He can be a bit trigger-happy about demanding people resign, but in her case (as in the case of the idiot who ordered the NYC flyover), I'm on board. Of course, she never will.
