Michael Steele Blasts GOP: "Disingenuous" and Implies Bush and Cheney Have No Core Values

On Morning Joe, Michael Steele candidly said in response to Olympia Snowe's claim that the GOP is a regional party since they have no Congressional Representatives from New England and only 3 from NY (and had a little umbrella where Moderates were not welcome) that after the Reagan revolution of 1980 when it was "cool to be Conservative" the GOP found itself in 2000 with a leadership that had no core values and betrayed the principles of Conservatism and the 16 Representatives from New England evaporated to "zero" under their leadership by 2008. He said that Bush and Cheney were responsible for the beginning of the nationalization of the banks by throwing $700 billion in their bailout package and the Republicans now were acting in a "disingenuous"way...He recommended that the GOP admits its culpability and move on. Pat Buchanan was sitting next to him and he had a look of astonishment. Furthermore, Steele said that the GOP had the Democrats where they wanted them to be and now it would be a battle of Liberalism vs Conservatism. Joke Scumborough then said that now the GOP can run a true COnservative with real Conservative core values.

I wonder how much time Michael Steele has as GOP National Chairman after throwing Bush and Cheney under the bus and chastising his fellow Republicans as "disingenuous"

Edit: This is not completely a joke, either. Remember in 1976, in the aftermath of Watergate, the Dems increased their control of the House and senate, and won the presidency. The media wrote the obituary for the republican party. Four years later, in 1980 the republicans won the presidency, took control of the Senate and increased their seats in the House (although they didn't have control of it). All because Carter fucked up. And that statement will get an arguement out of a lot of lefties, but that's how the country saw it.

Don't get complacant, and pray President Obama doesn't screw up.
