Ed Schultz is defending Joe Biden!
Edited on Thu Apr-30-09 05:56 PM by jillan
Pinch me - I think we finally found a SANE voice in the media.

"Joe Biden never told anyone we need to close down mass transit".

He was speaking about common sense, according to Ed.

Thank you Big Eddie!!

1. Thats what I said as well.... He was asked how he would advise his family...
Edited on Thu Apr-30-09 05:54 PM by LakeSamish706
Maybe he should not have been so honest, but he was.... He certainly never said that people should not travel, he simply said what he personally advised his family. And yes, Kudos to Ed for sticking up for Joe.

27. Oh spare us...save the drama for your mama.....
for 5 days now, on every news site, on every news channel, it's been all swine flu, all day, all night. People shown wearing mask world-wide, and if that didn't make people panic, I don't tink they are going to. There were others who have said the same fucking thing. Before Joe said it. The only people panicking are people looking to panic, because they are hand wringers.

Nope, this is just another blatent attempt by the media, and people who don't like Joe, to create an issue, where none really exist.

38. Hi Jillian....
like I said elsewhere...

I'll tell you what this media bullshit is; it's backlash for Spector. They are taking out their anger over losing a republican against Joe, because they know he probably was the driving force behind it. Maybe not the only reason, but we all know it was a factor. This is their way of getting back at him. Not that they have ever felt the need to have a real reason....they're just fucking assholes.

35. Save the drama for your mama?
What in the hell does that even mean?

Food for thought.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened."

"Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see ya."

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking."

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me."

I like him, but sometimes he needs to think before speaking.

Let us look at some of the stupid things Biden has said. What do you think? Oh hell, let's give it the good old college try.

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me."

You do know that the FDR, stock market crash, TV broadcast never happened don't you? The market crashed in 1929 and radio was the medium. FDR wasn't even the President when the market crashed.

And this could have racial overtones. "You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking."

46. There is absolutely nothing you could tell me
that I don't know about Joe. Nothing.

It doesn't change my mind about him. He's off-the-cuff honest. But then again, I think political correctness is way out of control in this country. Honesty has taken a back seat. No one is allowed to voice their true opinions about anything, for fear that SOMEONE might get offended. Now me personally, I'd rather have someone tell me to my face what they think of me, as opposed to having them seem nice to me, then say things behind my back. That's all being PC did. It just forces people to talk about others behind their backs.

But hey, if the PC facade makes some people feel better, then so be it. I'd rather have the truth. This has become the most sissified country in the world if you ask me. That irks me greatly.

I'm done with this now. Seriously, I am.

NC Senator Burr told his wife to make a run on the bank

A distant relative to infamous Aaron Burr, North Carolina Senator Burr (R) was telling his state that the banks were fine while telling his wife to get all the cash she can out of their accounts via the ATM.

With guys like these, the Democrats will have a filabuster proof majority after the 2010 elections!

Me thinks Andrea Mitchell and her ilk need to go back to covering real issues, or at the very least own up to the fact they are turning this into an apocalyptic event! How about they own up to the fact THEY are inciting panic?

24. Thanks for posting that. Since this morning, I was wondering if DU and the media had gone crazy.
I heard the exchange, and he was answering to a stupid question of Matt Lauer who wanted to close the borders (which ones? How would it work?), then asked him what he would do. He answered by saying what he would recommend his family and he pretty much proposed common sense measures about avoided unnecessary travels and avoiding being in places full of people if you can avoid it, all things full of common sense. Then the media became crazy like the media knows how to do it.

May be people can start focusing on important things, for a change. It would be nice.

And, Joe ended his answer with "That's just me".

It was almost like a setup.

And the funny thing was that I was listening to NPR in my car this afternoon, and they didn't even discuss it. Just goes to show you that this was a made up media frenzy.

I hope Jill is giving Joe extra hugs today - he didn't deserve this.

The MSM is stupid. They create the panic, then panic when someone gives good, sensible advice after he was asked about his own family, and then the WH is forced to backtrack on the comments because the MSM is freaking out.

No. To not say it, is (petty) cowardice. I guess that's the definition of "smart" to those who are outraging over it.

I hope I never see the day that Joe considers changing one iota for such piss-ants. (Not that he would.)
