Think about it.

1) Democrats (who hold the majority) would vote against the guy because he's a far-right loon, ensuring he never gets confirmed.

2) Republicans only objection would be that the person was gay. They would be forced to openly and frankly put their bigotries on public display.

3) The savaging this person would experience at the hands of The GOP should finally rid us of the last few dozen or so Log Cabin Republican fucktards (you know who you are... www.gaypatriot.net ) who don't realize The Repubes would gladly march them into gas chambers if they could.

4) Some far-right Republican would have his career ruined by the scrutiny, which can never be a bad thing.

So, fuck you, you homophobic bigoted Republican nazi fuckwads. , And anyone who's comfortable with putting tax cuts for the wealthy over your own civil rights and dignity-- either wake-up or go to Hell.

4. Can you live with being wrong?

Note: My initial laughter was at the funny imagery your idea produced in me, not at the idea itself.

3. Ron Paul would make a GREAT justice for the SCOTUS.
Ron could render ranting decisions.

8. I bet some Log Cabin Republicans only PRETEND to be gay for business purposes.
The same way the rest of the Log Cabin Republicans pretend to be Republicans.

10. The GOP is dumb but they're not THAT dumb....
.... if the President did that, they'd be so thrilled that they'd temporarily forget their homophobia.

11. More likely, both parties would be afraid to vote against them.
The Dems wouldn't want to reject a gay candidate, the Republicans wouldn't want to pass up the chance for another conservative on the court.

In politics, a game of chicken often turns into a game of Russian Roulette with all chambers filled.

13. If a far-right Log Cabin Republican were to be appointed to the SC
They would vote against themselves when sex related cases came up.
